Sting Destruction/Creation

Man is known to be a very destructive race. We always fight in wars, we kill, we maim...destroy everything that is beautiful, nature, animals and ourselves. (Pretty much like the Orchs do.)When I watched the extra material from the extended DVD version and saw all that enormous work that were put into creating the miniatures of Rivendell and Lothlorien and to see all the beautiful details, it made me feel so warm in my heart, cause that was a perfect example of that man is also capabel to create beauty and construct magnificent pieces of art. It sort of gave me a feeling of hope for mankind.

Yes, that is one reason I like LOTR. It shows we don't need new and destructive technology to enjoy life. It's just that people don't care anymore about saving our enviornment. Even George Dubya dosen't give two-cents. I hear everything he says, but all I hear is: "Bomb Iraq! Bomb Afghanistan! Bomb Canada!"<P>It's sad really.

I agree with you both entirely. You have no clue how much I wanted to live in Middle Earth after I got done reading the books. <P>That world is so peaceful (most of the time), and you don't really have to worry much about people coming in your house in the middle of the night to kill you. You could sleep outside in the woods for all anyone cared. <P>And think of how much better off people are there. They don't have much, and they don't care. Their air is so much cleaner too. There are no factories to destroy it. I bet you wouldn't hear anyone complaining about Asthma in Middle Earth. <P>I just can't believe how degrating this time on Earth has gotten to. People just destroy things for no reason. Yes, Tealdude, it is very sad.

Yes LotR is great compared to the real earth. When I read the books I also wanted to be a part of it.

I totally agree. I've always dreamed of living in Middle-Earth and getting away from all this war and conflict in the modern day. Practically every week you hear news of people dying, starving,or just killed for no reason. It is so sad to see this earth being destroyed when it was once so beautiful.
