What if they were?
The Hobbits were the smallest of the races mentioned in the Fellowship. How might it have gone if the Hobbits were smaller than they were--say, Lilliputian size? Or, from another angle, what if they were larger?

What if Frodo had been an Ent? The Quest might never have been completed.

The only thing that would have happened if they were smaller is that they would have been harder to see, or just imagine Gandalf trying to get into a house of a hobbit that was 2 feet tall, he would have bumped his head a lot more

"Frodo, the Ring must be destroyed!"
"I'm trying, Gandalf, but it's too big! I can't pick it up!" Frodo's title wouldn't be "Ringbearer", it would be "Ringdragger".

But the ring changes sizes, remember?
I think that, if they were really small, Gandalf could have stuck Frodo in his pocket and just gotten him in and thrown the ring (and Frodo, if necessary) into Mount Doom. Remember that Gandalf seems to trust the Eagles, and they trust him, so he could have taken the eagle in, and just done a fly-by, dropping Frodo into Mount Doom with the ring!

It only changes subtlely so if the hobbits were that small I don't think it would shrink that much.
It would have been harder for Merry to attack the Witch King from behind. He'd have to attack they guy's ankles instead of his knees. If the hobbits were like...Ent size they would have had a pritty easy time I think. lol...that's a funny thought.

Hmm if they were Ents, wouldn't it be harder for them? Because they would move very slow, and they could be caught on fire and wouldn't be able to hide very easily. Although they could just close their eyes and pretend to be trees. But still. I think the quest would be more difficult if they were Ents.

Still, as Gandalf trusted the eagles and vice versa, he could have just put mini-Frodo and the ring in his pocket and dropped Frodo into Mount Doom on a fly-by, I believe...
