Sting Shire know-it-alls!

Ok all you hobbits who think you know the Shire:
What is the name of the place situated in the south-east corner of the Shire?

When you say 'place' I am taking it that you are referring to settlements .. in that case Willowbottom and Deephallow are the two most 'South-Easterly' villages and hamlets ..

If you mean Geographically in a wider sense then Overbourne Marshes and Haysend are visible as being named locations on the map printed at the front of the Lord of the Rings. However Sarn Ford which is off the map could also be argued to be the most South-Easterly point of the Shire as that is where the Rangers, known as Bounders in the Shire, tried in vain to hold back the Nazgul at they rode to find the Ring-Bearer..

Just to add - Suza was not the former name of The Shire, but the genuine Hobittish name.

I think that "mathom" is the word for something of little or no worth...isn't the museum called the "Mathom House" or something like that?

1420!

Just to make it clear to myself, a mathom is, "Something that the hobbits had no immediate use for, but were unwilling to throw away." okay, got it, don't mind me
oh, and yes, the museum is called the "Mathom house"
