He lived in Nogrod and therefore Durin would not have been his liegelord, even though he was `Eldest` of the seven dwarves created by Aule. The relationship between the person I am looking for and Telchar was a direct master-apprentice one, so Aule is not the answer, though I take the point that Telchar would have had a great deal of respect for him, as did all the Naugrim.
