Gandalf said it on Caradhras, and these were words of power which kindled a fire. I cannot translate it properly, but "naur" means fire, "an" normally means long, and "ammen" would mean upwards, or into the sky. This way it would be sth. like "Let there be a flame up into the Sky!" or such. Making a magical fire meant "writing GANDALF IS HERE visible from here to" , erm, very far. </p> |
