Did Hobbits Drink Coffee?
I know that the Hobbits drank tea (see The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring), and they drank plenty of ale (see all books ) But did they drink coffee as well? I would doubt it because there was no mention I remember and I don't exactly know how they'd come about discovering and then brewing it, but it just crossed my mind one morning and I was curious about it.
What about milk? Did they drink milk too? Not only put it in recipes and such but actually pasterize (sp?) it and make it 'drinkable'. Does anyone have an idea? And also ... does anyone know where I can find some "hobbit" recipes like cakes, and such?

There's an extremely fun thread on coffee here.

It is perfectly possible to drink unpasteurised milk too
