It would be cool to be a hobbit. I'd like to be Rosie Cotton but she dosn't participate much in adventures. So I'd have to say that the person I'd most like to be is Eowyn.

Either Galadriel, because of her knowledge and she partipated in many adventures, mostly on the right side of it.
Or Elendil, dunno why, just like his adventures and personality. greetings, lathspell

I think this has probebly been done before but oh well.
This is kindof strange but despite my name I think that it would be fun to be Frodo. He is smart for a hobbit. I would have chosen that for my name except I am a girl and I figured it would make people think that I was really wierd, as aposed to just wierd. If I couldn't be Frodo I would either be an elf or Gandalf.

I would probably be Gandalf, who is my favourite character. Of course, if I could be myself, or myself only as an elf, that would be best
If I could be Vala, I would be Ulmo, no question there Being Arwen would be cool too, if only because she marries my Arrykins [ June 21, 2002: Message edited by: Feadolena Nolfare ] |

I think I would probably have to be... hmmmm... Luthien cos I think she's one of the best characters or an Elf in Doriath. I also wouldn't mind being a member of the Faithful from Numenor! I would definitely be an Elf though!!!

Well, my favourite characters are Maedhros and Gil-galad.. Though I don't know if I'd really want to be them.. First of all, I like BOTH my hands just the way they are and second, I think that I don't want to die that much.. If I recall correctly, both of them died at the end of their lives ( )
So I guess I'd been.. Well, some elf.. Preferable someone that allready lives in the West.. or maybe I should be a maia? Those are cool as well!

My highest wish is to be a noldo elf, since they are the coolest. And of Fingolfin's lineage, if not himself. They do the coolest things, and are feared by all their enemies.

I have no great love for the Valar and enjoy being in positions of responsibility if not great leadership. Guess that makes me a Balrog. Where do I pick up my wings?

I love to be a plain old commoner nobody elf. That way everbody'd leave me alone, and I could travel as I wished without anyone caring. This would preferably in the Third Age(I don't think I could get away with it in the others ). I wouldn't be especially beautiful, and I wouldn't have any special talents. That way it would be hard to identify me(get the idea I like to be anonymous?)

Celebrian with a name change.
But i'd settle for being just an Elf from the Havens or Rivendell.

I've got this thing about Eowyn for some reason. Ever since I first read Lord of the Rings back in 1998, I've wanted to be Eowyn. However I happen to look like a hobbit, so I guess I'm the original Hobbit-Shieldmaiden

If I'd look at the character, I'd definitely choose Eowyn, I'm most like her.
But Eowyn's position isn't a perfect one, and just as Eowyn wans't happy in her position, I don't think I would be happy. So looking only at the situation, I'd pick any random ranger, traveling through the wild fighting bad guys is more my idea of a perfect day in middle earth.

I think in some ways it would be neat to be Ingwe...High king of all elves and in such close fellowship with the Valar, living in the blissful realm...seems pretty good to me.

I'd love to be an Elf or a Vala. Maybe Yavanna or Varda, but I don't know if I would be able to cope with the responsibility of not interfering. I don't think I could cope with all the sadness and torment that goes with being an elf. That prob'ly means it would be best if I was a Man or a Hobbit who didn't have much to do with the great affairs of the world. Maybe it would be cool to be Ellanor. She's loved greatly, by not only her mother and father but by Frodo for a short while too. I'd also get to live close to the Grey Havens. Yeah, I think that'll do. Elanor Gardener/Fairbairn for me!

Theoden has some good lines "Forth Eorlingas!"

I would like to be one of the Vanya Elves, living in the blissful realm with the Valar. Or else, maybe one of the Noldo Elves of Finarfin's household, who remained in Valinor rather than returning to ME. They had great lives of bliss and happiness.
In ME, there is Glorfindel, my favourite of the Elves. Or Elladan and Elrohir, the sons of Elrond Halfelven. They always seemed pretty cool to me. |

I would love to be Iluvatar and do whatever I want. Then again, I suppose there would be a lot of stress with the job. And eternal life... nope, doesn't suit me.
Very well, a young hobbit from Bilbo's extended family would do. |

I would like to be as much like Treebeard in this life, but there is an awful lot of pressure to.....y'know.....do stuff. A mad world, eh?

Oh, I'd love too be Iluvatar...for a different reason though.
For as Iluvatar, I could right several wrongs. 1. Bring Hurin and his entire family back too life. 2. Bring poor Aredhel back to life. 3. ORDER the Valar to raise Numenor from the sea and to bring all people who died there back to life. Including their queen. 4. Make Turin Manwe's subordinate, and Lalaith apprentice of Tulkas. Just because Lalaith and Tulkas both have laughter as their herald. Then I will call upon tsunami to delete all traits of Hithlum...and forever strip the plague away...and destroy Nen Lalaith. Why destroy Nen Lalaith? Well, it's because it's not needed anymore. For something much better is there. Living and breathing embodiment of it.

This thread is quite humorous to read through.
Several girls chose Eowyn, because she got to have adventure and she has spirit. I wonder...would girls now adays really be willing to go through what Eowyn did? She went for adventure because she was hopeless and heartbroken. She endured terrible pain physically and emotionally when she went for that adventure. Yes, she's got spirit, but it cost her a great deal, and her 'adventure' was bitter. I love Eowyn, but I do not wish to be in her place. Someone went for Frodo. He may be one of my favorite characters, but I wouldn't want to BE him. Same goes for Sam. I think I would want to be Rosie. She's a hobbit, so she's got it comfortable - except for during Sharky's rule in the Shire, but her folks didn't do so badly during that time. She's spunky and fun, so that means she's got spirit in her own way (and we all know hobbits have got more than anyone wants to give them credit for). And she gets to marry Sam. And the reason I don't choose some Valar or Maiar or something is because I really don't want that much power. And elves live too long.

I think I might actually go for Tom Bombadil.
Totally carefree and happy, yet wise. Oh, and immortal (which I wouldn't like to be as a human, but as Tom Bombadil, it would just be part of my nature). Not to mention having a wife to share the immortality with.

Oh, for me it would be Tuor. Not only getting to see one of the most beautiful places in Middle-Earth (if not THE place - I mean Cirith Ninniach, of course; Gondolin was fine as well, but Cirith Ninniach is Number One), and seeing the Sea itself literally come alive with the coming of the Lord of Waters, not to mention seeing...
(quoting my current signature for the future time when it is changed) "The Great Sea he saw... Its measureless plains he surveyed with the swift sight of the Valar, lying windless under the eye of Anar, or glittering under the horned Moon, or lifted in hills of wrath that broke upon the Shadowy Isles..." And not to mention getting the "quest" from the most awesome (literally) "quest-giver" you could probably get around there and also this wonderful cloak (in fact, I would be in serious hazard of just deserting from my mission simply because I'd want to keep it...). And I could go on and on. And all in all, Tuor is just brilliant.
