Silmaril What do you think...?

What do you think was Aragorns most heroic part in the book/movie?
In my opinion it was the part in the movie where he was fighting the Uruk-Hai that was shooting Boromir with the arrows. When he is in action... Sorry, wandered for a minute I just wanted your input: I hope this hasn't been posted yet.

Good topic! I haven't seen it in particular done around here recently, so someone let us know it we are mistaken.

In the book, I think when Aragorn first met the hobbits at Bree and then led them through the wilderness, that that is one of his bravest parts. (In FOTR, of course. ) I don't know, going off, risking his life for strangers seems very noble and valant to me. =)

the part where he resisted the ring calling to him, and told frodo to run, then put his sword to his forehead, and slaughtered a bazillion uruk-hai in six seconds

Book - Paths of the Dead (that's pretty scary if you ask me)
Movie - when Aragorn tells Frodo to "run" and faces the Uruk-hai by himself (until Gimli and Legolas come along).

Book - when he leads everyone through the Paths of the Dead.

Movie - Definitely when the Ringwraiths are attacking Frodo up on Weathertop. You have to think of this - he couldn't use his sword at all. He had to rely on that flaming stick.

Actually, the question is, is there a part in the books where Aragorn isn't heroic? No, I'm not a teeny-bopper!

Good call! i agree, I don't recall any part of LOTR that Aragorn is not heroic.

Perhaps you could count when he first met the hobbits and no one is sure if he is good or bad?

Book: Paths of the dead. Trusting his power. Or playing russian roulet with the entire west by looking in the palantiri.

Movie: Maybe when he fights the black rider's at weathertop. It doesn't take an heir of Isildur to fight orcs.

Wow ! I didn't expect my topic to get any responses. That makes me feel great! Thanks you guys. I haven't been on in a while, so it's good to know my topic has lasted. You make an excellent point, Tolkiengurl. He really isn't ever not heroic.
