HELP!
I feel so awful: I've wanted to read the Silmarillion for ages and ages and I got the really cool box set for my b'day... and read like 1/4 of the through... but then disaster struck: i am stuck for the silliest reason:
I think Feanor is a complete idiot! And I can't move forward, but I feel like I'm giving up.... it's really silly I know but nevertheless its keeping me from reading what is probably a really interesting book... HELP!!!

Perhaps you could elaborate...
Why is Feanor keeping you from reading the rest?

Without Feanor, there would not be a Silmarillion. Yes, he has his moment, however everyone has there moments of stupidity. Even Galadriel and her brothers who followed after him.
Do not let Feanor stop you from readign such an amasing book. There is more to it then just Feanor. The whole books encompasses how people are affected by the Silmarils that this man had crafted.

I would suggest just forcing yourself to read it. Just try and read like, 5 pages per day or something. I think that you will find it easier once you get over your mental block. You won't do that unless you read some more. It may be tough but not imposible.

I agree, Feanor is an idiot.
But I like his half brother Fingolfin. Maybe you could just root for another charicter.
