LoTR Parody Movie
Hello everyone. I am Elana A few friends of mine and I area making a parody movie of the LoTR. We're trying to follow the movie plot instead of the book because we do not have enough people to play all the characters that the books portray. Hopefully Tom Bombadil will make an appearance in our movie! I am writing the script myself and I need some help. If you have any interesting or funny concepts/ideas for our movie then write back! If we decide to use your idea then we will include your name in the credits. Depending on how much funding we are able to get you may be able to get a copy of the movie sent to you.

If you want ideas for parody humor, read Bored of the Rings by the Harvard Lampoon.
It's hilarious! So, do you make movies often?

If you want ideas, go to the BarrowDowns Humour FanFiction page. My fave there has to beDude, where's my ring?
Or, alternatively, go to FanFiction.net and choose books->LotR->Humour/parody (in the little drop-down menus.

Ahhh! Kill the dancing elephant!
Other than that, my favorite is Stupid Ring, from the folks at LordoftheRings.net.

Oh wow, Elana, you too? My brother's been working for the past or so on a LOTR parody movie himself(he's pretty good at parodies, but this is his first movie attempt so I'm not sure how it will turn out). Right now we have the script mostly done and actors for most of the parts. Despite his initial claim that he would do it all himself, he's rather poor at public relations(aka, actually talking to potential actors), grammar, spelling, and logistical stuff(like production costs, time constraints). Basically, he writes out the rough script and has fun playing with special effects while I get to be co-writer, editor, and producer(ah, the things sisters do for their brothers ).

Hi Elana!
You might want to check out If LotR had been written by someone else!? for some parody ideas. Don't forget to credit the original authors as well as the Barrow Downs authors!!! It would be best to Private Message the BD author to get their permission before using the material. [ November 12, 2002: Message edited by: Lostgaeriel ]

Here is an idea. When Aragorn, Sam, Merry, and Pippin are arriving to Rivedell, they can say this"
Aragorn: Rivendell! Sam: Rivendell! Merry: Rivendell! Pippin: Its only a model. Aragorn: Shhhh.

if you were here you could probably have any part you want. yeah a girl is paying gandalf....me! and saruman is going to be played by my friend jessica...the reason for that is we're the only ones that can keep a straight face while reading those characters lines.
