Elven Babies
I have been searching the old boards looking for a clearer picture of Elvish babies/children. So far, I've not found much.
Does anyone know how quickly Elvish babies grow into full-sized adults? I've heard mention of the Three Stages of an Elf's life.. the first of which may or may not be 50 years.. but I've seen no evidence to back that up. Also, because Elves were immortal, and so had no reason to procreate often, can we assume that they used birth control? Were there "rules" for procreation? And what would the normal justation period be for an Elf fetus? Should we simply assume that all Elvish life cycles were longer than human? |

Here's some background information on Elvish children, taken from Morgoth's Ring. A previous discussion on reproductive cycles and related topics can be found here. Hope that helps!
