Well I don't have The Complete Guide to ME but I do have The Atlas of ME which I love. It is very well written and easy to understand. Just don't treat it as if Tolkien himself wrote it after all some of the info could be wrong.

The best reference books are the History of Middle Earth series, by Professor Tolkien and edited by his son Christopher.

I find The Complete Guide To Middle Earth absolutely indispensible, so definately get a copy if you can. I have only recently acquired The Atlas, but so far it has been very helpful for getting me through The Silmarillion and as I am partial to maps, it was a worthy purchase.

I have been hunting those books for some time now, so does anyone know where I can get hold of them?
Thanks in advance.

You can order them online here.
Or have your local bookstore order them if they are not in stock. online is cheaper though.
