Changes in the Downs Roleplaying System

One large section of the Barrow-Downs is devoted to roleplaying games. Though not much has happened there recently, there is great interest in reviving the wonderful tradition of collaborative writing here. The strict rules helped to structure games during a time when the RP forums were overrun and the quality had partially deteriorated. Now that we have a steady, level-headed (for the most part! ) membership, we'd like to open up to allow more creative writing by our members, including newcomers.

There's a fast-paced, interesting discussion going on here - check out the last couple of pages for the thoughts of those who are interested. If you'd like to contribute your thoughts and ideas, please join in! There's no restriction - anyone can post.

There's also some activity in the Seventh Star Inn, so if you'd like to try your hand at writing for a character and interacting with others, go ahead.

We'll let everyone know when decisions are made concerning the future structure of the roleplaying forums. Games will be open to a wider range of writers, but we're still discussing details. We hope the changes will enrich our forum and contribute to your writing and reading enjoyment!
