Silmaril Galadriel's Foresight

Elven foresight has been mentioned in many of Tolkien's works. To me the elves keen sight is one of the most interesting abilities of the elves.
It is said that Galadriel had the ability of foresight. Galadriel was far more far-sighted than Celeborn, and it is stated that she percieved that Middle earth could not be saved from the 'residue of evil'. From this statement, we can see how far and effective the foresight of Galadriel truly is.
Now this leads to the time when Sauron arrived in Eregion. He posed as an emissary of the Valar, saying he was sent by them to aid Middle earth. Sauron did indeed percieve that Galadriel was in fact a great obsticle and adversary when she ridiculed him and ordered him to stay in Eregion. Once again, Galadriel was able to see through Sauron's transparent disguise, maybe with her ability of insight into the minds of others (another of Galadriel's gifts).
Now, at the times of crafting The Rings of Power, Sauron was named 'The Lord of Gifts' and started seducing the smiths of Eregion at his will. After the rings were made(without the knowledge of Galadriel), Celebrimbor (greatest smith of Eregion) who was disgusted to learn of Sauron's craft of the One Ring, sought counsel with Galadriel.
It was then that the 'Three Elven Rings' were crafted (without the influence of Sauron). Futher Note: It is implied that Sauron had possesion of the 'Seven Rings' and 'The Nine' soon after this time.

Now leading to my question, it is said that:
Quote:
When the shadow of Sauron's recovery arose, they [Galadriel and Celeborn]dwelt there [Lorien] again for a long time. In her wisdom Galadriel saw that Lorien would be a stronghold and point of power to prevent the Shadow from crossing the Anduin in the war that must inevitably come before it was again defeated (if that were possile); but that it needed a rule of greater strength and wisdom than the Silvan folk possesed. Nevertheless, it was not until the disaster in Moria, when by means beyond the foresight of Galadriel Sauron's power actually crossed the Anduin and Lorien was in great peril...
' when by means beyond the foresight of Galadriel...' is where i rasie my question. How strong is the foresight of Galadriel? She was able to foresee that Middle earth was not able to be saved from the 'residue of evil', but she was not able to see Sauron's increasing power when he crossed the Anduin. Was it the shadow of Sauron that clouded Galadriel's foesight? But this isnt stated anywhere, as is stated that Galadriel had an incredible gift of foresight. Was Galadriel's gift incredible? Or did it too have its weaknesses at times of evil?
Note: Quote was slightly modified. Quote from Unfinished Tales

Perhaps the powers of Galadriel, an elf however gifted, could not rival with the might of Sauron, not the weakest of all maia.

Does anybody else have any ideas as to answer the question? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
