Hi all,

Can anyone write in Elvish? its something i would love to learn but also i would like to have a Tattoo with this beautiful writing. Would anyone be able to write the following:

You are my strength

without you life would be meaningless

Love is everything

always yours

Well, this isn't exactly what this section is for, so this thread will probably be moved, but I'll go ahead and answer anyway.

In Sindarin, you're looking at something like:

Le bellas nín,
Ar le, cuil lost.
Meleth pannad,
Na uir, im lín.

My guess is Melysa wants the English above, written with Elvish characters (as opposed to a Neo-Sindarin version). And probably the letters and not the runes.

But she will have to clear that up, I guess

As Aran indicated, that's not what this forum is for. I'm moving it to Novices and Newcomers.

If what you want is to transcribe the English into the Tengwar alphabet, you should take a look at Appendix E in The Lord of the Rings, which has a pretty lucid explanation.

As a matter of professional pride, only one word in there was neo-Sindarin. But anyway, Aiwendil is right about the Tengwar, if that's what you want.

I don't mean Neo-Sindarin in a derogatory way with respect to your answer above, but I tend to use Sindarin for authentic (Tolkien-made) examples. A sentence that is made up of all attested words can still be Neo-Sindarin, for instance, even Elvish idiom aside.
