Music of the Movie Trilogy
This is for all the music geeks out there!
I don't know how far it will get, but it should be fun. Standard quiz form- one person asks a question about the music in the movie trilogy, and the person with the correct answer gets to ask the next question. I'll start. What is the name of the violin-like instrument that plays the Rohan theme?

It's the Hardinger fiddle.

Estelyn's got it! It's actually spelled Hardanger, but it was spelled wrong in the soundtrack booklet, so that answer's fine.

Next question:
Which flute player is a featured soloist on the soundtrack?

That's the right person, Lindir - Sir James Galway, to be precise. Go ahead with the next question.

Renee Fleming was featured in all three, and The Return Of The King also featured Viggo Mortensen

Oh no! I didn't realise I would actually have to ask a question!
Well here goes, be warned it is easy. Who translated the words in The Propechy?

If you mean who adapted it for the soundtrack and (apparently) supplied the translation for the sheet music, would it be Phillipa Boyens?

You've got the right idea about what I was saying, but that's incorrect. Try looking at the sheet music....

Are there people who have the sheet music and can answer? Unfortunately, I don't and therefore can't...

Evenstar signature
I just looked; In the music book I have, Evenstar key signature shows one sharp. Which means, key of G. Since I just bought the books I have yet to play it however.

As a musician, I would say that key signatures of sound tracks make for problematic questions - it is very likely that a piece will be printed in a different key signature than it is played on the CD, and it may even be released in several different versions, possibly in different keys, depending on the relative difficulty of the piece. Either we keep guessing until we chance to get it right, or you might just want to give us the answer for which you are looking and post a question that has a more definite answer...
