strange lights in the sky
My first post but it's probably been asked before. What was the only given name of the southern inland sea formed by the 'fall' of Ormal?

YES! Of course it does ... such a fascinating subject isn't it ?
No, just kidding .. you go with whatever takes you ..... as long as its about "the names of all the stars, and of all living things, and the whole history of Middle-Earth and Over-heaven and of the Sundering Seas" - what less?

Yes it was Bain and don't worry about the reply. I was toiling over your question about the land of fragrant trees and was about to post when i found that Bruce had beat me to it... oh well

Yup, he's obviously related to Rumil of Tirion in some fashion. One more - burial mounds aside .. what was the only 'man-made' hill in Beleriand ?

The threefold peaks ofThangorodrim were piled by Morgoth from the refuse of the tunellings of Angband. But he's not a man. If thats not right is the hill possibly elf made or is it truly man made?

The feature in question is actually in Beleriand-proper .. not those areas that tend to get associated with Beleriand ie,
Hithlum Dorthonion Ard-Galen/Anfauglith Lothlann Ered Engrin & Thangorodrim Hope this narrows it down a bit! PS - It's elf-made!

Asked this one almost a year ago, let's see if anyone remembers. What was the Brightest star in the skies of ME.
hint: It isn't Earendil and the Silmaril. |

Is it Borgil? I was thinking that Menelvagor is equal to Orion. So the brightest star and the red star of Orion is Beetlegues(sp?).
