The threefold peaks ofThangorodrim were piled by Morgoth from the refuse of the tunellings of Angband. But he's not a man. If thats not right is the hill possibly elf made or is it truly man made?

Dorthonion
Ard-Galen/Anfauglith
Lothlann
Ered Engrin & Thangorodrim

Hope this narrows it down a bit!

Is it Borgil? I was thinking that Menelvagor is equal to Orion. So the brightest star and the red star of Orion is Beetlegues(sp?).
