Silmaril What is a Barrow-Wight? (fka FOTR QUESTION!!!!!!!!!)

In Fellowship of the Ring, I didnt understand the barrow wight and that whole part. what is a barrow wight?

Well, as best as I can tell, barrow wights are some sort of ghosts of an ancient kingdom of Men (Carn Dum) who haunt the hills of the Barrow Downs and are in service to Sauron:
