What if Treebeard.....
What if Trrebeard faced off against the Balrog of Moria? Would his awesome physical prowess be enough to overcome the corrupted Maia?

No. Ents are vulnerable to fire.

Treebeard has ancient wisdom, though. Do you seriously believe he wouldn't set up some sort of elaborate trap, possibly involving a bucket of water balanced atop a door?
I would never bet against Treebeard (unless he was fighting Wargs).

Ok what if Smaug, blindfolded and tanked up with 100 pints of Jack Daniels, were to face up against Ted Sandiman armed with a Israeli Uzi-gun and a fire-extinguisher? Who'd win?

Sadly Treebeard is an extremely flammable element. One little spark and he would be no more than a really big sparkler.
Smaug VS Ted Sandiman Well a very large, very drunk dragon would be a sight to behold. The Uzi would have little effect due to the small size of its caliber but the fire-extinguisher is a force to be reckoned with.

Treebeard has ancient wisdom, though. Do you seriously believe he would ever do such a foolish thing like face the Balrog of Moria?

Treebeard was not a spelunker of note, and given the Balrog's choice of retirement community, it would seem he was not an avid arborist; therefore, their avocations and lifestyles would preclude them from this type of engagement.

I simply mean if he found himself in an inescapable situation. Then he would be forced to use some of his tricks. As Morthoron points out, such a scenario is unlikely.
Though they would make big bucks on pay-per-view. They could be tempted...

Treebeard clearly has magic of his own as displayed to the Merry and Pippin in Wellinghall. As strong as the Balrog was, he and Gandalf were fairly equal in that department and Treebeard is far stronger, maybe the strongest thing in Middle Earth from a purely physical standpoint. While the Balrog may cause fire damage against Treebeard it is quite possible it will get pummeled by a 10 ton boulder or be closed on and pummeled hand to hand before any catastrophic damage is done.

And if Godzilla fought the Cloverfield Monster, who would win? What if Godzilla was a ninja and the Cloverfield Monster was a pirate?

Treebeard wouldn't have a snowflakes chance in hades against a Balrog. If I'm not mistaken, that's how the Entwives died: burned to death.

Strange I always thought the Entwives were burnt then drowned to death.

Treebeard is many times stronger than an Echtelion or Glorfindel and they managed to do defeat one. I venture to say, he may be stronger than any thing or creature in Middle Earth. While he probably doesn't possess the magical capability of high elven prince or Maia, he does possess magical capabilities that are never full discussed.
