Ghost Prince of Cardolan

26 February 3019
It is on this day that Boromir the Brave made his last stand defending the hobbits Merry and Pippin. Hail Boromir, Captain of the White Tower!
It is also on this day that Merry and Pippin are captured by orcs, Frodo and Sam break from the Company, and Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli pursue the orcs that captured Merry and Pippin.

Rest in peace Boromir. Luv ya.
I was planning to commemmorate the day somehow, to tie black ribbons to my hair or something (which I did on Tolkien's deathday), but I naturally forgot.

'What news from the South, O sighing wind, do you bring to me at eve?
Where now is Boromir the Fair? He tarries and I grieve.'

Rather amusingly, my mum e-mailed me yesterday. Roughly translated the content was:
"I was reading a blog of Helsingin Sanomat [the biggest Finnish newspaper] and there was a question: "What lost thing would you like to get back?" And someone had replied: "Bambi's mother, Simba's father and Boromir, because none of them really died." " I just have to agree with it and it was awwsily cutely said, especially as it was the day of Boromir's death. I'm glad my mum found it and sent it to me.
