Recordings
Okay, so umm I was wondering if one of you brilliant smart folk could help me out a bit ... I need to know where I could get my hands on one of those BBC recordings that was made of LotR. Because I heard that they were very good adaptions of the books. Any comments?

I suppose that depends on where you live; I was able to get the BBC audio CDs - not only LotR, but also Hobbit, Tales of the Perilous Realm, and Tolkien's own voice reciting poems and passages - via my local bookstore. And I live in Germany.
The internet should be able to get you anything anywhere, if you find no other source; I'm sure you can order them through Amazon, for example.

You always see lots of the CD sets of the BBC Radio 4 version on eBay for decent (i.e. low) prices.

I love this version and often play the cassettes (one day I will invest in the CDs since I am sure I will wear out the tapes or my cassette player will die). you may want to check out the Tolkien Society website since they were selling the cassettes heavily discounted at Oxonmoot. If you want to try before you buy your library may be able to get it for you.

Thanks lovely intelligent people that know where to find things. I am so thankful. Now I can listen to those tapes/cds. I was thinking e-bay but I needed a second opinion. Thanks again!
