Tolkien The One question to rule them all!!!- or not as the case may be.

There is one thing i'd like to know more than
anything else about Tolkien's world, which i can't find the answer to. I
was hoping you guys or gals could help me.
The question is- If Middle Earth is part of
a great land, then what are the other parts? I know about Beleriand and
Middle- Earth, but what about the rest of the country, and what is the
other side of the Great Sea? And could someone describe the Undying lands, and why all the Elves go there?

I would really appreciate it if you help me with this, and i can't find
the answer to this, but then again i haven't read the history of Middle-
Earth, so there may be an answer. I can't seem to find any maps of other places other than Beleriand and Middle- Earth. If anyone knows where i can find any, please could you give me the URL if it's online?

The only thing I can recommend to you, is to log out from your computer, run to the book shop, buy The Silmarillion and read it to find all the answers you seek. After that, you probably will have some other questions which we can discuss here ...

There are some maps floating around the Net but don't know how accurate they are...try searching them from google.

If you're looking for maps, go visit Tolkien-Maps.com. It has many maps of all lands of ME and the rest of Arda also.

Another interesting possibility is The Atlas of Middle Earth by Karen Wynn Fonstad. I bought my copy several years ago and haven't seen it in stores in quite a while, so it may be out of print.
While the authenticity of it is debatable in some areas, it is nonetheless worth looking into.

Yes I recommend the Atlas of Middle Earth Book and the TolkienMaps website they are both really good and have great maps.

Well Middle-earht is meant to be our earth...since other places won't have been thorugh as many land-drowning phases as the north-west, due to lack of Morgoth they'd would bear a resemblance to our world - Far Harad for Africa, Far Rhun for Asia, etc.
