Arwens Necklace
Ok this has been on my mind for quite some time and I need a know-it-all to clear it up for me. That necklace that Arwen gives Frodo in ROTK what is it and what significance does it have? I am under the impression that it is the same one that Aragorn parades around in the movie but I thought he got some jewel from Galadriel and some other green jewel from Arwen. I hate the movie contradiction it is so confussing. Anyway at first I thought that the necklace in the movie was the Silmirel aka the Necklace of the Drawves (I think..) but then I read that Elwing and Earendeal got away with and put it in the sky. Then I read in the movie companion that the Necklace is called the Evenstar and Arwen got it from Celebrian and she got it from Galadriel but that doesn't fit in the book telling. Where did Arwen really get and what is it called?

Silmiel, your confusion is understandable - the movie necklace "Evenstar" has nothing to do with the book. There have been some discussions on this topic; look at Arwen's pendant, for example. Perhaps someone recalls other threads about it - I'll leave this one open for additional information.
