Goldberry
I read the FOTR and there is this eenie weenie character, Goldberry. She is described as the River-daughter. But a question is still bugging me, who is she really? Is she an Elf? And why did she live with Tom Bombadil?

Goldberry lives with Tom because she's his wife.
You can read about Goldberry and Tom in Tolkien's poem, "The Adventures of Tom Bombadil" published in an anthology of poems called "The Adventures of Tom Bombadil". What sort of being she is isn't clear. In the poem, she's the River Woman's daughter. That's all we're told. Like Tom, she doesn't fit into any particular catagory. |
