Middle Earth compared to Europe/Asia
Do anyone have a link to a map with Europe overlapping Middle-Earth. I sure would like to see how big Middle Earth really is compared to Europe...

I have no link but here`s what I read from "The Magical Worlds of the Lord óf the Rings" by David Colbert (it was estonian so this is the translation):
"One thing is certain: The Middle-Earth is not invented. It is Europe. There was a word in Old English like Middlaearth,"(that means the middle of the World, all civilisations always think that they are in the middle of the World)", and though the description and maps are not familiar with those of Europe, for example no Great Britain or Ireland, the form of the continents might have changed. Tolkien wrote in the Prologue of "The Lord of the Rings" that old maps do not fit with the new ones because the shapes of the earth have changed in time." Well, hope that is helpful and didn`t go too much off topic.

Perhaps this is just a sentimental thought of mine, but I believe that there used to be educated, knowledgeable civilisations on earth, with their own medicines and almost perfect lives, but with no electricity, and, obviously, with males as the dominant gender. and then the people like the celts came over from Germany (yes, i know you're probably thinking 'she's talking about the Saxons, she's got it all wrong, but the Celts were originally from central europe, and came over to Britain on the land bridge between England and France, which disappeared 7000 years ago), and destroyed their cutlures, burned their palaces, villages, temples and citadels to the ground and started messily from scratch. and isn't Beleriand just SO like Atlantis?
