Cheers.
Which dwarf was most surprised at Bilbo's reappearance from the goblin tunnels?

Okay:
What did some elves in TH suggest Thorin and Company's ponies were lacking?

Well, it has been over 10 days, so I'm going to re-activate this thread, if you don't mind.
Who of the dwarves said he'd never eat apples again?

A question of continuity
5 members of the Fellowship in LotR are related to characters encountered in The Hobbit...
Who are they, what character in The Hobbit are they related to, and how?

Frodo is related to Bilbo - nephew.
Legolas to Thranduil - son. Gimli to Gloin - son. Merry to Bilbo - I can't quite work it out, second cousin? Pippin to Bilbo - second cousin (if the above is correct).

I forgot all the hobbits were related. (I only had Merry. Or Pippin. Just now I can't remember which one I'd thought of) So, there is one more Fellowship member related to a Hobbit character, and then I'll give you the thread.

Nope. Appearing in both stories doesn't count. The relationship I'm looking for is much less close than the others.

Well there's a rather tenuous one, that Aragorn is Elrond's adopted son and Elrond of course is in The Hobbit.

It's Aragorn and Elrond, but more than simply adopted son...although only in Elfin terms could it be defined as a relationship...
Elros and Elrond are brothers, and Aragorn is descended from Elros. And Aragorn is (at least by the end of the book) Elrond's son-in-law...but adopted son is a very real relationship, not tenuous at all, And the thread is yours.

Since more than ten days have passed, I'll ask a new question.
What instrument does Thorin play at Bilbo's house?
