It's more the kilt that's got the club than it is you, Eomer.

I'd say more the Scottish accent actually.
In any case, the fanclub is non-official, and, as such, non-commerical; that is to say, no donations. (Really it's just a bunch of BDers with nothing better to do ). |

"I think I scared them all away... " ~Encaitare
You can only scare away normal people...Each of my friends is at least as strange as you so you can't do anything to scare me. Next to Abercrombie (whom I knew before joining) you were probably the first person I felt inclined to like...now you're the first of many... Holbytlass and Kath I count as friends...and I feel well disposed towards everyone in Storyland (Werewolf III)...and Littlemanpoet, though I don't know why--he's just cool...

I'm in the Enca fanclub. In fact, my birthday wishes to her were cruelly denied by the limited PM box (Happy Birthday, by the way)
I can hardly believe this thread is still open. It's lovely and all but.....y'know.

Happy belated birthday to Enca too. I couldn't be bothered to PM you because I knew your inbox was full. As to what is my favourite, I'd say... all of Mirth, actually. Particularly those threads that remind me of the Ole Mayhem Days. |

I remember the Mayhem days... I was but a young corpse, freshly killed and not even yet decayed. At the time, I believe my favorite 'Downers were anybody who posted on threads I made, or acknowledged my existence.

Thanks for the b-day wishes! (And I'm sorry about the PM box! I swear, there was plenty of room in it when I left! *runs and hides*)

I should add a few newer faves:
Gurthang- for his posts in Crazy Captions especially (if I’m not mistaken he ‘invented’ the MapQuest trend that’s going on right now) -and- Cailin- who really grabbed my attention during WW9 (which I believe was her first WW game) when she surprised me with many long posts of thoughts and detailed analysis. I’m not prejudice but I usually expect more along the lines of fewer and much shorter posts from newer members of the 'Downs playing in their first WW games (no offense to them). I think her five boxes/Fame of Frodo despite only 75 posts speak volumes. Anyway, just wanted to mention that. p.s. despite being one of my faves, I'm not 100% sure of Cailin's gender, so I hope to God I got it right! While I am fond of many downers, my favourite has to be Heren Istarion for that unbeatable combination of knowledge, enthusiasm, gallantry and humour and his careful nurturing of new downers.
However since (as far as I know ) he doesn't venture in to RPG, I will mention someone who doesn't seeem to venture away from it. Piosenniel the patient shepherd and repository of arcane knowledge, who has so far resisted the no doubt great temptation of killing me for too frequently forgetting to remove my sig .

A toast to all you wonderful people out there!
I love all of you, but there are a few who really stick out in my mind as special.
tgwbs, because he's one of the few people I remember very distinctly from my early days here. We both spent large amouints of time in Mirth, especially the You know you're obsessed with LotR when... thread in late 2003. The thread was full of immature newbies and semi-newbies who had trouble staying on topic, but he seems to be the only one besides myself who has stuck around and matured considerably in the past two years. Holby, because she has been very helpful and caring through PMs about some family problems I've had. She's just one of those wonderful mom-types who wants to make everybody feel better. Mith, because she shares my love of Lord Peter Wimsey. Need I say more? TORE, because all his sports-related captions make me laugh. I still haven't gotten over one he did about Arod being traded to the Rangers by the Rohirrim over a year ago. It's fun to find somebody who makes sports jokes, since none of my RL friends can understand why I like to watch football and basketball (and sometimes baseball) and why on earth I'm addicted to ESPN radio. Knight of Gondor, because he's so much fun to talk politics with. And finally, High King Fingolfin, because he's the best little brother anyone could ever ask for and my best friend in the whole world.

My current favorite is TOREstel. It's that WWJ game. I just can't get over how well and [almost] seemlessly he accepted my big fat lie and pretended it was true.
I also ♥ The Barrow-Wight.

2. Strangely...I don't remember that caption. Though now I'll be forced to waste time searching for it. Of course one of my favorite downers is Fea (no, I'm not trying to copy) because of the ruse we pulled off for awhile during the last game. And Eomer, Oromin, Kitanna, & Lhuna are all faves because of the WW game in which I was cobbler. |

But if it's any consolation, I respect the both of you so much more now because of that game. Which sort of means that you are both (among) my favorites. Which creates two mutual 'favoritisms' for me. |

I've decided that my favorite member right now is the phantom. His Tol-in-Gaurhoth XII Ebar Telemarth narrations are killing me!
He says the role of who died, or he gives a drawn out Sauron narrative, but he just draaaaaaaaaaaaaaags out the revelation of the name until as late as he can. And you know what? It works. Half of the time I sit around refreshing waiting to see what he wrote next, or waiting to post. Blast you, oh current favorite, for trying my patience so.

Well, just to name a quick few:
Fea - She just might be the craziest person on the 'Downs, and not an insane crazy, an I'll-do-anything-if-I-have-even-the-slightest-most-illogical-reason crazy. It's a good thing. Saucepan - I've got to respect the one who pulled it out in the end and bested the Bear. He's just brilliant. Phantom - His Werewolf narration is some of the most exciting writing I've seen in quite a while. And, besides, everybody loves his egotism. Sleepy Ranger - Star Wars Fan! Durelin - [Same as Sleepy Ranger]

I am fast becoming an Eomer fan. In Crazy captions especially. Although he is miles behind me in posts on said topic, his jokes flatten mine often. Also his picture on the Barrow Downs photo page highly amused me!
Keep it up, and Forth Eorlingas! the phantom also amuses me in his over the top vanity.

Hookbill is my hero. Where do you come up with your Captions? Not to mention you're the one I have to beat in post in "Fortunately/Unfortunately".
I've become good friends with Sleepy and Valesse not to mention my partner in crime in the LOTR Survivor, Folwren.

Crazy Captions? I don't know. A lot of the time I just stare at a picture until an amusing thought comes to mind. As for 'Fortunately/Un...." Its mostly puns I rely on, and play on words. Hookbill = sad little individual.
