I saw a game similar to this over at Entmoot and found it entertaining. The asker puts a quote from a Middle-Earth character. Everyone must guess who said it.

Heehee, still not right. I know it´s hard, you really have to look it up, I wouldn´t have known the speaker´s name either (though I would have guessed him right, at least after trying Ghan-Buri-Ghan and one of his people).

Naw.. It's not a problem, really. It does present a challenge, though. As we can see with this example, we all had a good idea where the quote came from but were forced to go digging in the texts to find the speaker.

The quote game is an excellent tool for readers to refamiliarize themselves with some of the more obscure parts of the texts. As long as people don't start asking partial quotes or quotes with no context, this game will be fun!

I guess it's my turn. But I don't have my books and I don't want to misquote anyone. I'll ask a new one this evening.

In the meantime, if anyone has a good quote they want to challenge us with, just start a new Topic.
