The Two Towers and Return of the King
The Fellowship of the Ring was a red-letter date for many of us, the first of the tolkien movies. Finally the rest of the world will experience what we've loved for so long. Vindication, validation. So huge in mind was the first, I hardly realize that there are two more to come. So tell me, what do we have to look foward to with the next two? What parts/people still elicit an excited anticipation from you?

I'm eagerly looking forward to the Battle of the Hornburg, Treebeard, and most of all (I think even movie-detractors might agree with me here), more Gollum!
Of course, I still have two years to wait for the Mouth of Sauron and Éowyn and Merry vs. the Witch-king.
[ January 07, 2002: Message edited by: Mister Underhill ]

I don't think Mhoram was asking us to tell [him] what the next movie will be about, instead [he's] asking what we are looking forward to seeing in the next movies, right?. Since we've already seen [the movie interpretations of] Gollum, Rivendell and the Balrog; met Galdriel, Frodo and Aragorn, heard spoken elvish, what's left to anticipate? PLENTY! In TT - the Ents are on the top of my list, then Eowyn, and Shelob (is she in the end of TT, or beginning of RotK?). I'm also eager to see more development of the relationship between Gimli & Legolas, as well as Merry & Pippen. In RotK - Mordor, the Battle of the Pelennor Fields! Lots to still look forward to - can't wait!

Does anyone know who is doing the voice of the Witch-King? I'm interested in seeing how they portray my second favourite character, Denethor.

OMG I can't wait to see the next two movies! Can you imagine what the major battles (The Battle of Hornburg, The Battle of Pelennor Fields, and The Black Gate) are going to look like with thousands of Haradrim, Easterlings, Orcs, Trolls, Wainriders, Rohirrim, Ents, Hourns, Woses etc. on film at the same time! Man, that is going to be insane! I also can't wait to see how the Siege of Minas Tirith looks!
How are The Dead Men of Dunharrow going to look? How will the Corsairs of Umbar look? What will Pelargir look like? What will the Ents and Hourns look like? So many questions, so much anticipation!
I have heard, and apparently confirmed, that there will be no scouring of the Shire, and that sucks. Also, apparently Saruman's death is going to moved to the end of The Two Towers!?.....Strange
Here are what some of the upcoming characters will look like:
Denethor: http://www.lordoftherings.net/images/ca_jnobl.jpg
Grima Wormtongue: http://www.lordoftherings.net/images/ca_bdour.jpg
Eomer: http://www.lordoftherings.net/images/ca_kurba.jpg
Eowyn: http://www.lordoftherings.net/images/ca_motto.jpg
Faramir: http://www.lordoftherings.net/images/ca_dwenh.jpg

[ January 08, 2002: Message edited by: Ulmo ]

I'm eagerly awaiting Eowyn and how she is portrayed. I am especially waiting to see whether they put in the part where Eomer sees Eowyn lying in the ruin of her enemy and charges madly into the fray. I also want to see whether the Ugluk/Grishnakh sideplot will be in there.

I'm looking forward to more of Gimli and legolas and how they become close friends, also seeing Gollum fully, and Treebeard, I hope they don't take out the Ents destruction of Isengard.

quote:
How will Minas Tirith look?
Will they show The Grey Hevens?

There was already a breif showing of Minas Tirith. Looks very nice. Though it was not shining white, as it was sunset at the time of the shot. It will be alot of computer animation though, as you can guess.
And I think you can count on them showing the grey havens as far as the spot where Gandalf and everyone gets on the boat.
