Figwit Lives
Clickherefor his fan site.

quote:
During the council of Elrond, he sits next to Aragorn until they all stand up and begin to argue. After Frodo shouts "I will take it" and everyone turns and looks at him, you see Figwit standing - on the far right, looking perfect, pouty, and gorgeous.

That's Figwit! Isn't it funny? Some crazy people noticed this unamed elf at the council of elrond and gave him a name. "Figwit" is played by Bret McKenzie, he only took the part because his girlfriend, a secretary at Weta, made him. Has anyone noticed him before in the films?

quote:
Q: Why is he called Figwit? Is that his real name?
A: Figwit stands for "Frodo is grea...who is THAT?!" We don't know his real name.
If you're really desperate you can call him Figgy, Melpomaen (very loose translation of 'fig' and 'wit'), The Silent One, Feathers (don't ask), and of course Gorgeous.

For some reason, Figwit reminds me of Orlando Bloom. They have SLIGHTLY similar faces, in my humble opinion.

Maybe it's just one of those "Elven resemblances" or something.
And wait. "Figwit lives"? As opposed to... "Figwit dies"? Was he one of th e Elves sent to Helm's Deep? Sorry girls, (and possibly guys... you never know) it may be the cold hard truth.
[ March 02, 2003: Message edited by: Lindril Arvilya ]

Another little tidbit from dear Figwit: Figwit Lives On Air
Lindril Arvilya: I don't think that he was at helms deep, most of those elves were from Lothlorien, not Rivendell.

My goodness, it just gets weirder and weirder. I'm all for any actor/entertainer grabbing 15 minutes of fame, so here's to "Figwit" (actor/musician Bret McKenzie) for getting his.
But what's really weird is I just found that the actor's father, Peter McKenzie, played the role of Elendil. So in a way, I guess you could say that "Figwit" and Aragorn are actually related.

Has anyone hear 'Frodo, Don't wear the Ring'? It's on the Fiwit site. Listen to it. It is very amusing.

Ah, yes!! I agree! It's a horrible name! Doesn't sound Elvish at all. I think we should give him another, more beautiful name.

Yes, I do. But I don't think anyone is going to call him like that. I mean, everybody knows him as Figwit.
