Hobbit Day
I was just wondering if anyone else had been planning anything for tomorrow, since it is Hobbit Day. It is also Bilbo and Frodo Baggins birthday. I thought that celebrating such a joyous occasion might be a nice thing in the memory of Bilbo and Frodo.

Hobbit Day? Say's who? Hallmark cards! Send a card to your favorite hobbit? Now really, what's this Hobbit Day?

Well, I found it on my calender, but it is also Bilbo and Frodo's birthday, so I thought it might be nice to celebrate that. It is also Tolkein's birthday, we ought to celebrate that somehow too.

Tolkien's birthday is January 3rd, and Bilbo & Frodo's birthday actually falls on September 13th our calendar, because that is what corresponds to the 22nd of Afterlithe on the Hobbit calendar. Yesterday, the 21st, is the day that "The Hobbit" was first published in 1937.
