I think that you should try entering 'Eowyn', 'Aragorn' and 'Faramir' into the forum search facility. I'm sure that past threads will answer your question.

Just for the record, though, I do think that Éowyn loved Faramir. It would be out of character for her to do something so shallow and petty as to marry one person to get someone else's attention.

Well, if she was trying to get Aragorn's attention, I don't think marrying Faramir would have really helped her much. He might notice her, but that's all. I also don't think she would be that shallow. I really think she loved him a lot.

Aragorn was nothing but an ideal to her. Now, as we all, know, Aragorn was a Pisces, and that means that Eowyn, a clear Virgo (need I have even mentioned it?), would never have worked out a decent relationship. With his indecisiveness and dislike of having the obvious stated to him, Arwen, the most Scorpio of Scorpio is infinitely more compatible.

Consider these quotes from http://www.astrologyguide.com/

Quote:
Pisces's affectionate nature intrigues Virgo at first, but these two personalities are just too opposite for any rapport. Virgo, being a mental sign, distrusts emotions whereas Pisces runs its life emotionally rather than intellectually. Virgo also can't give Pisces the romance or ego-bolstering Pisces needs, and Pisces proves to be too unstable for exacting Virgo. Virgo will resent Pisces's dependency. This soon becomes a toboggan to nowhere.
Now observe from the same reliable source:

Quote:
Pisces finds its match here and then some. Scorpio will provide Pisces valuable emotional support, strength and leadership. Scorpio's jealousy and possessiveness won't bother Pisces-in fact, it makes Pisces feel loved. Pisces's dependency is just what Scorpio is looking for. These two share a special communion, much of it on a sensual, unspoken level. Both have intense feelings, are loyal, intuitive, interested in the mystical and the unusual. An ideal mating.
I think that nothing more needs to be said on this topic.

I'm surprised you choose that source, Kate. I would think Malbeth the Seer the more reliable on Middle Earth birth prophecies.

I tried to ask Malbeth first, but he was too distracted with the queue of young ladies desperately seeking relationship guidance in the direction of a certaim Mr. Bloom. Their understandably vindictive spirits when let down prevented me from reaching him before he was rendered unable to communicate in methods other than blinking. I just have not the patience for such foibles, I'm afraid.

Malbeth is a lot more use in my opinion. Let's compare his prediction for me this month with that from astrologyguide.com.

Astrologyguide says
Quote:
You are going to find yourself in a situation this month with only two choices. If you make the wrong one you'll find yourself betrayed and hurt by the end of the month. You CAN make the correct one but it's exactly the opposite of what you would have done in the past. I know all you want is justice for yourself but there's a right way and a wrong way. Look hard at the old way and then choose the diametrically opposed way! This is the only way to stop the pain you will experience later on. Don't worry about money. That will take care of itself, just worry about the choice itself.
No relevance there, although the month does have eight days left in which to present me with a decision more taxing than whether to order Chinese or Indian food.

Malbeth the Seer, on the other hand, says
Quote:
In the dark of the night, the noises you hear are Dúnedain conquering a small Ent.
Well I haven't been sleeping much this month, and I have mentioned Ents this week. Therefore Malbeth is more relevant. He even divined that I hear sounds at night, although I'd always assumed that it was the traffic on Oxford Road.

I shall, however, stand corrected in my assumption that astrology has no relevance to Tolkien's romances if anyone can produce astrological charts for Aragorn and Arwen drawn up by the Professor himself.

D'you really think the same astrological signs go for ME?

No, really, do they?

I personally don't care about astrology, but I would think that they would have different astrological signs in ME.

I think that she loved Faramir. She didn't really love Aragorn, she just wanted to be let out of her cage. She saw him as a king, and wanted the respect of a kings wife. After the sceans were described between Eowyn and Faramir, I don't doubt that she really did truly love him. That is my opinion anyway.

I don't think their astrology signs would be very different. They did have the same stars as us. And the modern world theoretically did evolve from ME. I wonder what the elven names for the signs would be. ^_^

See the Apendix to Morgoths's Ring (HoME X)(Wow Middle Earth History X! sorry), which is entitiled On Star Names. Its not exactly Star Sings, but its near enough. ("Karnil rises in the east, someone you love will be lost to darkness" anyone?)

My dear Squatter,

Quote:

It is my understanding that Tolkien's preliminary drafts of such charts were lost in the dislocation of the move to Headington, which also corresponded with the typesetting of LOTR (Carpenter, 289). Consequently, I feel confident that in the hands of someone with an excellent grasp of diagrams, it would be possible to recreate such charts. Perhaps we could call upon the excellent services of burrahobbit, who has previously produced such stellar work in this regard, to provide us with meaningful and significant visual representation of this subject.

Yours etc,
Bethberry

Well, I don't put any stock in horoscopes to begin with, but Middle-Earth is a different world entirely...none of our astrology would work there.

But yes, I believe that Eowyn loved Faramir. She wished to be loved by Aragorn, but when Faramir pierced her coldness with his love, she melted and could accept and return his love.

Knight of Gondor, I like what you said! I don't put any stock on horoscopes, either, but I think ME's would be different, anyways. I also like what you said about Eowyn and Faramir.

Well, yes and no. Of course it isn't a true history of our world, but you can pretend that it is for the story purposes. In other words, the stars are the same. Consider the end of Chapter X "Strider"

Quote:
The Sickle* was swinging bright above the shoulders of Bree-hill.

* The Hobbits' name for the Plough or Great Bear.
The Great Bear would be Ursa Major:
a constellation that is the most conspicuous of the northern constellations, is situated near the north pole of the heavens, and contains the stars forming the Big Dipper two of which are in a line indicating the direction of the North Star—also called the Great Bear

I don't put any stock in horoscopes either. But I believe what my dictionary tells me.

Also hence how the Elvish word for the constellation of Orion is Menelvagor, and how the Big Dipper is Cerch I'Mbelain. And, remember, Tolkien wrote of Middle Earth as a sort of a mythology for England, so he would base where it took place on actual places, although the story was fictitious (or so we are led to believe ).

And, yes, I have noted that many Bloom-Babes have been hounding Malbeth lately, on the Chat and off...aren't there many Bloom-based sites for them to buzz off to and begin their Bloom banter of his "beautiful body" and his "boundless bent" for acting (go alliteration!)?
