If the One Ring was crafted by Sauron, and the Three Elven rings were crafted by Elves, and the Three were made before the One, why does the One have power over the Three? (Or are my facts messed up?)

The one ring not only has power over the three, it has power over the seven and the nine. Now the reason it is more powerful is because that's how Sauron made it. He made the ring to surpass all others, so his one ring would be the master ring and he would be most powerful. Think about it, would you craft a ring for power and not make it the most powerful? Of course not.

And Sauron put some of his power into the ring for insurance. If Sauron is killed, and the ring lives on, then Sauron can regenerate. As long as the ring is not destroyed, then Sauron will still be. If Sauron loses the ring, then he knows the ring sort of has a mind of its own (at least that's what I think), so it will try to get back to its master. And the ring has part of Sauron, so there is an eternal bond between the two.

What do you mean by "Why risk losing it?" Do you mean why did he come out to fight and have the ring cut off his finger by Isildur? Because if that is what you mean, I think this is why. He had the ring, so he had all this power. Now, I think Sauron's forces were losing at that point. So Sauron had to come out, use his power/the ring, and put his side ahead. I don't think he ever intended for the ring to be cut off his finger. And I think he knew if it came down to that, then when and if the person who claimed the ring went to destroy it, then the ring would be so powerful, that the ringbearer would not be able to do it. All it would take for the two to be reunited after that is time.
