Tom Bombadil in the White House?
Being a barrow-wight, I often float around and steal treasures to bring back to my tomb. I found this one at Minas Tirith:
Notice he is still visible.

That's a keeper. Was it dated and what part of the library did you find it in? Does Gandalf know?

Noooooo, not him!!! How can he have the One Ring?!? Has he... has he... stolen it??? As mark12_30 asked, what is the date? To be honest, I don't think Mrs. Bush(Bombadil) would like that sort of wedding ring... can a president just wear anything he wishes to? What about his image? Or is it just somebody editing the picture? Am I asking to many questions? I think so... Barrow-Wight,
I'm from Texas, and you made my morning! LOL. But y'all better be careful. Some of us here don't take to nobody making fun of our Texas aristocrats. Tom Bombadil? I guess I'm more suspicious than that. Hey, I bet Sauron didn't disappear either, when he put the Ring on! Actually, Bush Sr. lives in Houston and sometimes I actually see him sitting in the expensive boxes at Enron (err--that is Minute Maid) Field (for baseball games). So the next time I spy him I'm gonna' try to get a good look at his finger and see if the Ring is still there. (Headline News: Child gets arrested and sent to the Lockholes for attempting to seize the Ring off the finger of an ex-president.) In fact, I'm active at the Neuhaus Center which is just around the corner from us. (It's a non-profit for learning disabled kids and teacher/parent training.) And Barbara occasionally comes to help with fundraisers. Do you think she'd mind if I asked her whether or not he also has a palantir? Actually, I don't get within a hundred miles of her, but the directors do. I'm tempted to give one of them I know a copy of this picture, and see if they'd show her. HeHe. (I won't tell them it's from the Downs, or we might find ourselves mysteriously dropped from the net. You never know what one of Sauron's minions might do!) Who manipulated that photo? It is priceless! sharon, the 7th age hobbit [ August 23, 2002: Message edited by: Child of the 7th Age ]

Hmm... this would explain some of the nonsense words that come out of his mouth. Now if we could get a shot of yellow boots under the desk, we might finally be able to clear up this whole Tom mystery!

Better for the Ring to be in the hands of a Bush-Bombadil than a Sauron Hussein or O-Saruman bin Laden.

I guess that makes **** Cheney Bilbo. Since he seems to have become "invisible" lately, he must have put on the Ring!

So that's what happened to the ring that was found during the trimming of The Books. No wonder it was taking so long to return from its valuation.

Who, then, is Goldberry? It can't be Barbara Bush... maybe it's one of GW's daughters. Oh goodness, Goldberry, if you were such a bad girl, you could have just come out with it earlier. Squatter, I think it really IS the One Ring... at least I hope so. But Osaruman Bin Laden wouldn't really be able to do much with it (I still say he is dead!) You know, it could just be Saruman's ring, since you can see both Bush and the elvish letters, and i'm going to guess that Saruman's ring was something like the One ring...

Good point, Salix *sighs* but I guess we'll never solve the mystery... Mr. Bush could be Sauron himself, trying to make us all believe he is 'only' Tom Bombadil. Maybe Colin Powell could then be the Mouth of sauron...
*long quiet pause* Seriously, I should really get some sleep, shouldn't I?

It does seem likely that Bush could be Sauron and not Bombadil... I can think of several reasons:
1. He doesn't sing a whole bunch 2. He is not magical 3. Sauron was a Dark Lord, he's the prez. There is little difference when you think about it. 4. I am a democrat.

I can't imagine Sauron choking himself on a pretzel, unless he happened to be eating one when he realised what was happening at the Sammath Naur.

ROFLMAO Ithaeliel and Squatter!
Think that's enough smilies for now. I don't see Saruman right now, nor Gandalf, but I know they're out there! And another good reason, Ith, (sorry republicans!) he has about the same good looks as Sauron... Maybe your president was casted as Eye of Sauron??

Good point Mele... but I suspect that instead of just saying his lines, he would have added an insecure "uh..." or "um" here and there. "You cannot, uh, hide, Frodo. I see you *pathetic evil laugh*."

How do you know Clinton didn't have one?
And Bush has used the word precious before...

Where and when did Bush use the word precious?!
Yes, the ring would have come in real handy for Clinton... especially after Melkor Lewinksy...

*Gets all excited* Ooo! Ooo! Does that mean that we need to summon Hobbits and Elves and Dwarves and get Gandalf back to go on another quest?!?! Can I eavesdrop on the council? Pleeeaaaaaase?! I'll be really quiet and good...until I open my big mouth and ask to go along, then get stuck going along, then suffer immensely because I would be horrible on a mission such as that, then eventually die some horrible death in battle...gee: sadly that sounds like fun! Get the feeling I'm bored about now?
Although: no girls went on the original quest, so I probably wouldn't get to go...and I'm 15: that may be a problem too...no: they'd probably look at me strangely for a minute, then burst out laughing, pat me condescendingly on the head (even though I'm 5'10": taller than any Hobbit or Dwarf there would be), then go about their merry way, chuckling all the while about the crazy maiden back at the Coundil... And I'd sit there like a rock, doing absolutely nothing helpful...except maybe I'd randomly flirt with some Hobbit or Elf or maybe even Dwarf and become a hindrance.

Uhm, I think finally found Gandalf. I mean, he's dead and everything, but the starter of this thread would be a good choice, right? *wanders of dreaming* "Our very own Barrow-Wight saving the world..."

*imagines* Wow...maybe BW wouldn't be sexist and would take us women with him! How about it, huh, BW? Could I be the Legolas of the 21st century (or the Pippin as it would most likely turn out: Fool of a (insert my last name here)! Throw yourself in next time and rid us of your stupidity!...yup: that's how it would be. Except I'm 5'10" so I'd get in bigger trouble)!

Ooh ooh then I want to be Aragorn!!! Well, female, but you get my point.
I just don't like the thought of having to go to Mordor to even gather the Fellowship. Maybe Gandalf/BW could go to Europe for a while??

Impossible cause GW is definitly Bombadil.
I saw him in a parade,The boots werententirely Yellow but they were yellowish. As for Goldberry maybe he was married before she died and the reason we havent heard about it is because he dosent like to talk about it. I can think of more if you give me some more time to think on it.
