The Oath of Baldor by Lady Aerin, First posted December 8, 2004
It seems that the Rohirrim were a popular subject of stories posted by our members. This tale expands upon a few brief references found in LoTR and tells the story of the final days of Baldor, who rashly braved the Paths of the Dead.
Enjoy and post your comments here.

That was pretty good (though I kept getting thrown off by the apparent appearance of Harding of the Hill a few centuries early ). I know Better Than Tolkien is standard ridiculous hyperbole for fanfic reviews, but... at least in concept, this supernatural terror is better than Tolkien's apparent idea that Baldor died because baddies snuck up behind him and hit him a bit.

The Oath of Baldor was quite a pleasant read. Reminded me of a DnD (2nd Ed.) game my ex brother-in-law GM'd about exploring the Paths of the Dead. Baldor's snippet in the books was always fascinating.
