Rohan Trivia Game
Greetings all!
This topic is focused on trivia only about Rohan, though you may venture out to ask questions about its people. First question: Who was the founder of Rohan's chief city, Edoras? Enjoy!

Well, this isn't known for sure. It might be Eorl (indicated by the lotr Appendices' "(Eorl) chose for his dwelling a green hill before the feet of the White Mountains that were the south-wall of his land..."). Or, it may be his son Brego, as is stated in the Unfinished Tales.

Well, I was thinking of Eorl as the founder of Edoras. So, you got it right, Ruitha. Congrats! Your turn!!

Well, I await Saucepan Man's judgement, of course, but until that comes here's one to think about.
Before it was gifted to Eorl, what was the land north of the White Mountains known as?

Now...It's your turn, Ruitha, so please ask a question about Rohan.

Um, well, that was mine. I s'pose it was about Rohan before it actually became Rohan, so it maybe doesn't count ... but I'll let Gil-galad go anyway, as I can't think of another. (Calenardhon was the correct answer.)

Herm, Poros maybe? If I remember aright the sons of Folcwine fell in battle there.
Edit: As cool as it sounds, 'bell in fattle' doesn't make sense. Sorry. <font size=1 color=339966>[ 6:30 PM February 06, 2004: Message edited by: Arvedui III ]

Edoras? Freca and Wulf were killed there. But so was Haleth, the son of Helm, who was more royal than both Freca and Wulf. Maybe Helm's Deep? Helm and his other son Hama both died there.

Since no one has posted here in quite a while, I will be moving this thread along.
Here is a new question: What was the name that Eomer gave to Aragorn when they first met? Have at it, mates!

I think he was one of those wingless worms, like Glaurung.

Interesting thread... But there was no conclusion. I based my answer on the fact that i had heard of "Scatha the worm".
Anyway..the answer is right.

Moving along, I believe that NightKnight got that question right, unless someone can prove me otherwise. So, it's your turn to ask a question NightKnight.
Have at it folks.

Wasn't Dernhelm Eowyn? I doubt she led one. Theoden probably led one himself.

I don't count Theoden as leading one. And Dernhelm/Eowyn is wrong.
