I think they are. They are perfectly balanced with nature and they appreciate it a lot more than anyone else in Middle-earth. (As far as I know) It could very well be. In a magical place like Middle-earth anything is possible.

About Goldberry I don't know what she is, but I REALLY know who Tom is..

Tom is Morgoth. Yes, Morgoth. When Melkor lost his powers, Éru gave him new chanse and Melkor toke his form as Tom, and tried his best to be good to everybody meets.

Well, I'm not sure his Morgoth. I think that they're just Enigmas.
