Question WHO SAID THIS ONE?

"Verily, that way lies our hope, where sits our greatest fear. Doom hangs still on a thread. Yet hope there is still, if we can stand but un-conquered for a little while."

Is it Aragorn about having to cross the Paths of the Dead?

Ring

That was Gandalf, referring to the Ringbearer's mission.

Yes, this is definitely Gandalf talking about the Ring-bearer to Theoden.

Gandalf, for sure. I love that one, actually. I don't know why, but it's one of those that when I think 'Gandalf,' I think of that quote.

That, and of course "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!".

...but that goes without saying. ^_^

Isn't it "you cannot pass"? It's "cannot" in the books, but PJ thought that "shall not" sounds better... I have to agree with PJ that "Shall not" sounds more epic, but he had no right to change the original dialogue! Well, monologue, but still. It's one word, but it's probably the only sentence many people remember from the FOTR movie.
