Happy Birthday To The Barrow - Downs!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE BARROW-DOWNS!
On May 1, 2004, the forums at the Barrow-Downs reach the ripe (and I do mean ripe!) old age of FOUR! While the site itself is a bit older, the fourth anniversary of the opening of the forums is a cause to CELEBRATE!!!!! Therefore, we will have a PARTY in the Shire to celebrate the fourth birthday (uh, deathday?) of the Barrow-Downs forums and all members are invited!!!!! PLACE: The Party Field in Hobbiton (located in the Shire Forum). TIME: Saturday, May 1, 2004 beginning at 9:00 a.m. Pacific time through late Monday night, May 3, 2004. DRESS: Middle Earth Wear – formal, if you wish, or just plain comfortable. There will be an open bar, entertainment, and meals will be served buffet style. COME CELEBRATE THE BARROW-DOWNS, AND PAY YOUR RESPECTS TO THE WIGHT. (ANYONE TRYING TO SNEAK INTO THE PARTY BEFORE THAT DATE WILL BE DEALT WITH PERSONALLY BY ME!) Signed – "The Barrow-Wight" Click HERE for the Party! ~*~ Piosenniel and Child of the 7th Age Last edited by Child of the 7th Age; 04-29-2004 at 02:38 PM. |

You are welcome to bring gifts in keeping with our Shire and Middle-earth theme. I also noticed a table full of mathoms, so that it is possible you will come away with a gift as well!

We are getting gifts too? Wow, BD is really generous None-alcoholic drinks. Well, hearing from the other parties that DID serve alcohol, it's a nice change

Splendidly Done!
I am sure I speak for all the party-goers, Piosenniel and Child of the Seventh Age, when I say thank you for being wonderful hostesses. Your party was a great success, many new friendships were forged, many old ones reconfirmed, much fun and silliness was had, and the Wight commemorated in suitable fashion. The Downs would be a much dryer place without you.

I second that emotion
Thank you indeed, Pio and Child for all your efforts.
(Even though the Saucepan Man didn't end the party in quite as mellow fashion as he had originally hoped. Any stray pots and pans will be gratefully received. )

Bethberry, SPM,
Many thanks for those kind words.... And another nod of the head to all those who posted on the birthday party thread! I also got a chuckle from many of the posts, and was impressed at how everyone took such great care with their writing. Many thanks to all for joining us in this celebration. For those of you who haven't participated in RPGs, and enjoyed the little taste that the party thread gave you, please visit us in character at the Green Dragon Inn, which has now reopened. Again, many thanks to all, and may the Wight live (die?) and prosper! Cami Goodchild P.S. Now, about those missing pots..... Last edited by Child of the 7th Age; 05-04-2004 at 06:35 AM. |
