It seems that I made a mistake. I thought that Fingon was the answer, Boromir was born after Dagor Bragollach ( 6 generation of men but Boromir is 4 the generation of men ).
So I have looked a bit more accurate in the Sil and found this From the northern slopes of Dorthonion Angrod and Aegnor, sons of Finarfin, looked out over the fields of Ard-galen, and were the vassals of their brother Finrod, lord of Nargothrond To look out over the fields of Ard-galen you have to be in possession of Ladros. I think Sophia the Thunder Mistress answer is the most likely one.

She was the wife of Gorlim the Unhappy! Used as bait to trick him into betraying Barahir.

The somewhat disturbing High-Elven name for Celeborn.
It rather begs the image of a seedy Elf with a pony-tail and droopy moustache arriving to "mend the washing machine" of a bored Elven housewife.

That's it exactly.....I'm glad he decided to stick with Celeborn......although, think of the lost opportunities for Middle Earth Mayhem!

Jackson would surely have had to change the name.
Telperion is referred to by three other names in the Silmarillion. What are they?

Sorry I usually only bother with the accents in the Books when I'm trying to look smart... they're too hard to remember codes for otherwise...

You're on the button, Sophia (I'm fast running out of new ways for saying "You are correct, Sophia).
The accent codes don't work for me and it's far too clumsy doing a cut and paste with the symbols on Word, so I don't use them either.

lol... I know Saucepan Man, it gets real old when you try to say, "You're right" "Yes" "Correct" "Absolutely..." in a new way... oh well.
Anyway, as for a question, it comes in two parts: A) what is the "rock of the music of water"? B) what is the more common name for said rock?

Thanks Beren. And it only took 3 months too (mind you much of that was thanks to this forum).
What encounter, with tragic consequences, occurred at the Spyhill?

Glaurung put his spell upon Nienor, who fell into a darkness of forgetfulness, ran to Turin and soon married him, not knowing he was her brother. She persuaded him to not go to war, and that encouraged Glaurung to seek Turin out instead of having Turin come to him. This brought ruin upon Brethil including the deaths of Hunthor, Brandir, Dorlas, Turin, and Nienor.

Who had a dream about Numenor 87 years (I think) before the Second Age?

And a complete guess that is correct! I'm still a bit fuzzy on the exact time of the dream but I think it was somewhere around ninety years before the Second Age.

Well, it seemed to work with the dates. He was the latest of the ancestors of Elros who would have been around 87 years before the start of the Second Age.
Who relayed the dying words of Finduilas to Turin?

Yes, it was Turgon's when he was in Nevrast, and he was High King of the Noldor later, so... Sorry to be a bit confusing there, but ya got it!

It was Cuiviénen, the water by which the Elves first awoke.
