Guess it's time I came out of the closet. You can see my pic on the website I created for simple hotlinks, there you will also see several pics of an Irish actor who I personally think should have played Aragorn...but never mind that. Just look for the big piccy of the gal showing a bit of leg:

Can I just throw in a couple off-topic comments?
One, there are some great avatars in this Board. I think you have to give burrahobbit the prize, but just from this thread alone I really like Eol's (from the Book of Kells I think?), Melephelwen's, Frieda's, Tigerlily's and Great Warg's. Two, why did I think Tirned Tinnu was a guy? I wonder if all guys assume that someone with a "neutral" name is also a guy, and all women assume it's a woman ?

I think you're on to something there Turambar. OK, I know I've PM'd a bit with Tinnu, but even before that, I assumed she was a "she".
Regarding avatars, I must say that I'm madly in love with Alka's.

Yes, you go that correct. My avatar is from the book of kells. If I recall correctly, the panel is titled, the evanglists.
Tir: I would have to agree a little on the irish actor, he does look like an aragorn, however does he sound like one? [ September 19, 2002: Message edited by: Eol ]

I agree, burra. That ketchup bottle makes all the difference. Why in the world did she crop it out originally? *shrugs*
If cuteness is an avatar judging criteria, none can beat my little Belle. Thanks, Sharkey. [ September 19, 2002: Message edited by: red ]

Yeah, l'd have put up the ketchup bottle, but I didn't have anywhere to load it, and burra selflessy and kindly put it on his webspace. The cropped version was already online through the chat wight page, thanks to dear Sharku. I love you guys!
Besides red, you can see my nice tan in the expanded version.

Ah, yes, the ever-present question of sex and names. I translated what someone remarked should be my name rather literally, and not wanting to be another Tinuviel, I conjugated it as best I could without studying too hard.
I chose a neutral name because: when I was young and played female characters in RPGs I was oft confronted with the possibility a sexual assault - and I took to playing male charaters instead. So I thought, why not neutral? That works for me. I chose a feminine strength symbol for my avatar - you'll all recognise Sigorney Weaver from Alien if you look at it carefully. It was that or Kim Hunter, in her role as a witch in "Bell, Book and Candle", but the piccy was too much for the server's permissions. Eol! Yes, that is Ciaran Hinds, the Irish actor who has played many a tough role. I do think he looks exactly as I think of Aragorn. When he smiles, he looks young, and when he scowls, he is grim! He's actually got green eyes, but hey, not bad anyway. He's skilled with a sword, and has costarred in big productions such as "Excalibur" (John Boorman) and "Ivanhoe" (made for cable) I think he looks fine in a tunic. but these days he's put on a bit of weight, and was in "Sum of All Fears" as the Russian president, and "Road to Perdition" as the fellow who sobs out the wrong words at his brother's funeral and get killed as a result. Ciaran is very much in demand, as his writeups usually include something about him being one of the more noble, dramatically adept actors in the craft today. One other reason why I like him - he looks just like a man I dated in Ireland, who was nothing but a total gentleman and a fantastically loyal friend. Not to mention 6'2" and drop dead handsome. Oh dear, stop me, I'm drooling. Oh yeah one more thing.. I figured the reason why he did not get cast as Aragorn was because he was involved in "Sum" and "Road"s' filming, and could not be free to do LOTR at the time. Too bad, I say! His voice is soft, (or gruff as need be) and his manner is careful, his accent is kingly, and his diction clear. *sigh* [ September 21, 2002: Message edited by: Tirned Tinnu ]

Of course I recognized my favourite heroine immediately. I love those movies, though I still think the aliens are too sweet to be killed just like that. *sigh* Though the second movie does have a very nice trait... Two words: Michael Biehn!!!
Ah yes, Ciaran Hinds. I knew I'd seen him before, just couldn't remember where. And to get back on topic, that's a very nice pic of you Tinnu. [ September 20, 2002: Message edited by: Maikadilwen ]

Haha! Tir, that is too bad about the actor, I am sure that would have made an interesting diffeerance.
Ah, those silly Alien movies,I had just viewed them for the first time only two years ago. Pretty sad huh? Pretty good stuff. Something I would not watch all the time, but entertaining every once in a while.

I have to say that it's exciting to finally see all these wonderful pics. I've always wondered what the members here looked like, and now I know. Still, there are several others that have not yet revealed their true selves. Hurry and send in your pics to Alk! I want to see them!
burrahobbit- Lucky you! I don't know very many people that can do that. Can you put both legs behind your head? A girl who used to be in my dance class did that once and she got stuck!

Ya know, burrahobbit, Now I have to be sure my son doesn't see that pic or I'll be having to un-tie him all the time and getting calls from the school... Oh I can hear it now..."Raefindel, your son is stuck in a knot again, can you come to school and un-tie him ?" BAD BURRAHOBBIT, BAD BOY!
onewhitetree, I like the new and improved pic. Your hair is longer in it. Is it a newer or older pic? [ September 21, 2002: Message edited by: Raefindel ]

There's a great site I found where you can see patterns or ideas for almost all the costumes. It also shows you how to make elf ears (yay!), and outfits in the upcoming movies. I'm attempting to make Arwen's Blood Red dress, but seeing as how I have no money, and I don't really know how to sew.......
