Durin the Deathless 12. Malbeth the Seer Seer is a noun, not an adjective. (Just to be pedantic). There's Boromir the Bold ... And 13. Eorl the Young (And Samwise the Stout-Hearted, if we quibble that Sauron and Gorthaur are the same character). Now let's have ... cooks/bakers/food or drink makers (can be just one meal/ a one-off item if we run out). 1. Old Stone Troll/Perry-the-Winkle: Cramsome bread.

It doesn't have to be Middle-earth, right?
1. Old Stone Troll/Perry-the-Winkle: Cramsome bread.

To honour a favourite chapter:
1. Old Stone Troll/Perry-the-Winkle: Cramsome bread.
2. Alf of Wootton Major: baker, notably of two Great Cakes. 3. Samwise Gamgee: stewed rabbit, though I trust he makes great fish and chips too. (nice topic!)

Trying not to eat sweet things, so bathing in them and making puzzles about them instead. Indeed, anything Tolkien is fine, Hs. I wonder if we can find 13?

Gandalf (Narya, and briefly the One) 8. Celebrimbor (made, and presumably bore, all three Elven rings) 9. The Witch-King of Angmar (one of the 9) 10. Thrain II (Dwarven Ring) 11. Deagol (the One, extremely briefly) 12. Bilbo (The One, but also *very good at quoits!*) 13. Sauron (The One) Hui, who are your 10 One Ring Ringbearers? I got Sauron, Isildur, Deagol, Gollum, Bilbo, Frodo, Bombadil, and Sam in chronological order. Gandalf never actually touches the Ring I believe, though he does hold it with the fire tongs. But that's still 9. It's bothering me not knowing who is your 10th. [Edit: I suppose you can count Gollum and Smeagol as separate people, and I believe in the movies Boromir holds it for a bit on Caradhras. So maybe you can stretch it to 11?] Next topic: Transportation, broadly defined. 1. Fell Beast

Gandalf does touch the One. He looks at it, then throws it manually into Frodo's fireplace.
There is whoever takes the Ring from Frodo's pocket, takes it off its old chain and puts it on a new one and around Frodo's neck in Rivendell. They could have hooked it with a stick, I suppose, but .... My money would be on Elrond. Reminds me of early themed passwords and spelling Khamul backwards, or something. But the last Oxonmoot Quiz had a questiom like this too, IIRC.
