Techinically Faramir would have been the last of the Line of Stewards, and he survived!

I just saw the dates, the last question is 2 weeks old! Even though I'd still like to know the answer to it, we should move on. Does someone want to post a new one up? If not I'll do one later.

Aragorn is the only one who did not go to the Grey Havens. He did not possess the Ring at any time either.

This is the one thing in common thread. You're looking for "odd man out"
They all encountered the "eye" of Sauron?

Nope. I'll give a little hint.
It happened to them in this order: Aragorn Sam Frodo

A bump and a hint:
Something happened to each of the three, for Aragorn and Sam is quickly passed, but for Frodo it lasted the rest of his days. What do they have in common? Aragorn Sam Frodo

No. One more (big!) hint:
it was an injury they all suffered, but not from a weapon.

More difficult than you think trying to come up with one, isn't it? Oh well, let's try this one: Gandalf the White Hamfast Gamgee Eowyn

They are all related to Manwë. Gilthoniel is Varda, his wife. Éonwë was also known as Fionwë, son of Manwë. Melkor is his brother. And Gandalf, or Ólorin is a Maia in his service.
