1. MushroomsI hear Ample Space is needed to find these jolly fellows.
2. Ent-Drought Gone without direction. They make this sweet beverage. Perhaps that's just a taller tale. 3. ApplesSnow White and Bill Ferney fear these. 4. TatersThey've been chipped and mashed but at the root, are still hearty. & 5. DaintiesFilling the corners is easier if you have these. 6. RabbitThis is a Jewish teacher to a T. Caught by sneaking. 7. IsengardThree hunters meet their prey and sit together in this watery place. 8. NobA door cannot be opened without one, nor mead served without him. 9. KingsfoilRoyal aluminum, with no useful properties, well maybe? Yes the password is a short phrase

Damn! I've pressed Edit intead of Quote AGAIN!
So, I first suggested Potatoes, Nog and Orthanc. Then, after Morsul's feedback, I tried Taters, Eggnog and Isengard. And very nice there were too, although Isengard was a bit chewy. P.S. You're welcome, Galadriel. Actually, I would re-edit Eggnog to Eggs, because no-one drinks or mentions Eggnog in the books, I think. (Unless it's consumed in The Father Christmas Letters).

Is it MEAT & DRINK ... the way food and drink are sometimes referred to in Middle-earth?
I think the one about the door and mead might be Nob. Ooohhhh ... kingsfoil?

Went! And there was me fixated on East and Eggnog.
You are all setting the bar very high. See if you like this one: 1. Slain warrior-guard gains note before meeting sanctified one. Now see him, clearly. 2. He’s a great laugh, however confused. 3. Being melodic, lazy spider starts bidding, starts spinning, then reveals his killer! 4. Desert old measure in confusion for a feisty girl. 5. Gloin, initially, but joins first person and others of his profession to mingle for one highborn. 6. Plosive divides utensil; dental plosive completes him. 7. Claudio and Hero’s trouble - though not much – still acquires the legacy of a wound. All are shaken before he is revealed. P.S. I spelled 'Romestamo' wrong on my last password, so I will go back and adjust the clue. I had the second 'm' as an 'r.' Sorry about that.

Married to Celeborn, I guess you have to be!
I have now edited ROMESTAMO and its clue on the opening and closing posts of my last password. The in-between ones I have left, as penance for my idiocy.

Indeed it is! There are already two A's from HAMA, so after putting in F (a note), just add ST, the abbreviation for 'saint.' (Which you did, pretty much).
HAMFAST: Slain warrior-guard gains note before meeting sanctified one.

Excellent!
HAMFAST: Slain warrior-guard gains note before meeting sanctified one. Now see him, clearly.
2. He’s a great laugh, however confused. BILBO: Being melodic, lazy spider starts bidding, starts spinning, then reveals his killer! 4. Desert old measure in confusion for a feisty girl. 5. Hamfast: Slain warrior-guard gains note before meeting sanctified one. Now see him, clearly.
O: He’s a great laugh, however confused. Bilbo: Being melodic, lazy spider starts bidding, starts spinning, then reveals his killer! B: Desert old measure in confusion for a feisty girl. I: Gloin, initially, but joins first person and others of his profession to mingle for one highborn. T: Plosive divides utensil; dental plosive completes him. Saradoc: Claudio and Hero’s trouble - though not much – still acquires the legacy of a wound. All are shaken before he is revealed. Not Olo (is there an Olo?), but the right method and thinking. It's 'a great laugh' in a slightly different sense. 'Gone without direction.' Took 'E' (east) from 'gone' to get 'nog,' because eggs are used to make the sweet drink 'eggnog' (I don't remember ent-draught being sweet, but maybe it does say so, or sweet here means good to drink?) The answers all seemed to be edible, and you had implied all 3 of my answers were close, so I thought it must be eggs, which are eaten in Middle-earth (Bilbo dreams of bacon and eggs). Not as significant in the stories as rabbits, apples or taters, but I thought maybe it was just hard to find a comestible starting with E. (I guess kingsfoil might be drunk as an 'infusion for headaches,' but I thought the afflicted person probably bathed the affected part of the head with it). P.S. Have copied Morsul's way of bolding whole answer, because it looks good. P.P.S. Well done both!

Perfectly correct
Hamfast: Slain warrior-guard gains note before meeting sanctified one. Now see him, clearly.
O: He’s a great laugh, however confused. Bilbo: Being melodic, lazy spider starts bidding, starts spinning, then reveals his killer! Belladonna: Desert old measure in confusion for a feisty girl.

O for OTHO? ("Hoot" = slang for "laugh").
T for TOBOLD? (With "bowl" as the utensil).

<---------- Tobold Hornblower smoked one of these
Hamfast: Slain warrior-guard gains note before meeting sanctified one. Now see him, clearly.
Otho: He’s a great laugh, however confused. Bilbo: Being melodic, lazy spider starts bidding, starts spinning, then reveals his killer! Belladonna: Desert old measure in confusion for a feisty girl. I: Gloin, initially, but joins first person and others of his profession to mingle for one highborn. Tobold: Plosive divides utensil; dental plosive completes him. Saradoc: Claudio and Hero’s trouble - though not much – still acquires the legacy of a wound. All are shaken before he is revealed. And that is probably the only circumstance in which I would use the 'pipe' icon! (In fact, is there an explanation page for the Downs' icons anywhere?) Correct answers, Nerwen, but TOBOLD does not come from bowl. It's TOOL for utensil, divided in the middle by a plosive (B), then finished with a dental plosive (D). Anagram of 'hoot' is the correct thinking for 'Otho.'

Not sure how we lose the c, but AR + ACORN almost gives us ARAGORN (called Longshanks by Bill Ferny).

I used the elvish exclamation in one of my last clues (the Melian one), and I also looked at lots of Maiar as that was both the password and the theme.
