William the Troll-Gandalf-Durin's Bane-Gothmog-Echthelion
That perhaps works, as Durin's Bane would have had to have 'met' Gothmog, Lord of the Balrogs. |

Ah, I'm going to have to work harder at this. The second one was what I had in mind.
Your turn of course. |

Well, he doesn't seem to be in LotR or The Silm, unless he is in Rotk's appendices.

Hint: akhtene wouldn't know because she doesn't have the book.
unless by some odd chance she does know and in that case, she'd better go ahead and post!

I don't think Galadriel met Treebeard or if Húrin met Galadriel, but if either one of those metting occured, you can deduct the chain for me. |

Did Manwë meet Gandalf? Lórien or Nienna would have been more plausable, but i'll still give it to you, since you were on the right track.

Well, Gandalf was a Maia of Manwë and Varda, though also Nienna’s greatest pupil. SO Manwë works.

Ar-Zimraphel - Elmo
(this is probably pretty easy as well)

Did you mean Ulmo. Only because I've never read about an Elmo.
If you did... Ar-Zimraphel ->Ar- Pharazôn -> Sauron ->Melkor ->Ulmo Note: I haven't read Akallabêth for a long time and I'm not sure if Míriel met Sauron. If so. Ar-Zimraphel ->Sauron ->Melkor ->Ulmo [ January 13, 2003: Message edited by: Pallando B.C ] |

Nope I didnt, but a good connection. Elmo is Elwe and Olwe's younger brother (according to UT) and it seems to be held as fact though i am not sure about that. My previous question still stands.

I didn't think so:
In that case: Ar- Zimraphel ->Sauron ->Melkor ->Beren ->Elwë ->Elmo |

Great, mine went like thus:
Ar-Zimraphel - Elendil - Elrond - Celeborn - Elmo or was it Ar-Zimraphel - Elendil - Gil-Galad - Fingon - Celeborn - Elmo but perhaps that one doesn't work. The first one definately does because I am assuming Celeborn did know his grandfather. Your turn!

Heh!
Very nice Beren - your turn. Adrahil was also Denethor's father-in-law, so the connection could have been made that way.
