Frodo lay down again. He felt too comfortable and peaceful to argue, and in any case he did not think he would get the better of a TGEW.

I like how Lommy and I chose completely different people from the Last Supper...

Many elements of the PT really blew my mind.
I was especially fond of Lommy and Volo's drawings, but I thought almost all of the drawings had a bit of brilliance. I love how Oddwen's drawing style is similar to my own, I also enjoyed that she found a way to include Gryffindor. It says a lot about Nogrod that he got 'Catalan independence movement' from a two coloured scarf. |

Oh my goodness wow!!!
Eonwe's sentence gave me the giggles! Volo's naked Dumbledore could win awards!! But Legate's Gandalf will give me nightmares!!

I giggled at all of it, especially at the memories of Legate's Gandalf, Volo's "flash" of brilliance, Nogrod's middle wizard and Lommy's response to my sentence. Well done, all!
Thank you to aganzir for modding and for the images conjured up by your connecting narration.

This had so many great drawings, and also this time especially the sentences made an impact, some quite innovative things in there! My absolutely favourite twist is the Catalan Independance Movement And of the pictures, both the Last Suppers by Lommy and Eönwë, and also Rune's Saruman and the googly-eyed clone behind him is an incredible work of art! Wow! I also like a lot Greenie's (I like how the Wizards are thinking of wheels and rabbits and mushrooms), Volo's and Nogrod's (what kind of psychedelia is that?) creative art. And special thumbs up to sally for the original image of Witch-King.
And, of course, thanks to Aganzir for putting it all together and most of all, keeping it swift and flowing! I'd say this is a trend we should keep in the future as well.

I skimmed the results yesterday in a sleep meds induced and fever powered pseudocoma while having difficulty to string two sentences into a coherent narrative and was freaked out by Agan-gets-things-done-zir's story, seriously, I shuddered.
Thanks an excellent first sentence and I'm proud of continuing the innuendo - it must be in the air I and Agan breathe in this suburb unofficially called Fairy Land. (It's probably just as well that I didn't draw the first picture.) The Catalan and da Vinci stuff were also my favourite moments. Eönwë's picture should enter the post-modernist hall of fame. I don't entirely get it how Legate came up with that sentence of his, but it's an excellent question. Also laughs at what I take to be a Firefly reference in your picture. What's Noggie's phantasmagoria based on? Painting, album cover? Kitanna's creative use of Bilbo's photo I enjoyed. Good stuff! Moarz! Hookbill, Dumbledore moonlights as an Academy Award winning body double actor. Last edited by Volo; 07-16-2014 at 01:53 PM. |

Hahaha!!! Well done, everyone! This one is so funny that it stayed funny since the beginning till the end. Every single one was creative!
(And Agan, you never cease to amaze me with your ability to look so innocent while saying half the stuff you're saying... ).

I must stress I'm really thankful that almost everyone respected the time limit in this game. It's not very much fun if the game drags and you're not able to tell when your turn comes up, and I bet it's stressful for the mod to engage for months at a time. I hope we can maintain this pace in the future as well. And remember - if you're busy, you can ask to be moved down the list even without a modly prompt!

This was brilliant! I loved all of it, but from Legate's sentence onwards I was giggling aloud. Lommy's picture? And Eonwe's? I also liked Rune's Saruman, and the way Gryffindor turns into the Catalan independence movement.

I just realized that Lommy's purple wizard looks like he's giving the WK the finger.
PS: and just for fun, cutting out everything except for the first and last sentence: Bilbo wished Gandalf would enter his hole as he used to, uninvited. The Great Dictator of Angmar indoctrinates the virtues of a free market to a band of dwarves. Just... wow. PPS: I'm in for the next game, whenever it will be, but I am away starting a week tomorrow and until August 10, so... whatever needs to happen to my spot on the list.

I only got to see this now... Hilarious!
As soon as it finally got to deviate from the original sentence it was just genius all along. And like somebody already said, this time it was oftentimes the sentences that kind of pushed the story on towards new paths and which made one smile ever wider. That said, extra kudos to Eönwë's and Lommy's rendering of the Last Supper, Algae's dreamy smoking wizards and Legate's wild cartoon on Gandalf's journeys... And yes. Thanks to Aganzir for making us meet our deadlines. That is no small feat.

It kind of looked like the Burger King was wearing red and gold, and also the broom suggested Quidditch.

No no, I get that part - I don't get how we got a broom and a golden outfit on the WK in the first place! These things just make the PT way better than a RL Broken Telephone. There the context jut gets muddles because of mishearings, but here some weird additional detail can be picked up on and turned into a whole new burst of weirdness.

While it is fun, it isn't quite representative for the game. I find it rather impressive that Gandalf/Wizard(s) is a recurring element right until the last sentence.

That, in fact, is not really that impressive. Gandalf or Wizard(s) of any kind are kind of hard to confuse with anything. Even a Hobbit may get extrapolated for, say, Tom Bombadil or for some fat person, the only thing you can mix up Wizard with is exactly Dwarves, but even then it's pretty likely that had the PT continued, sooner or later the Dwarves would change into Wizards at some point. Gandalf, Gollum and Alien are the type of characters who are very difficult to get rid of.

Hellooooo is there going to be a reawakening extravaganza for Paper Telephone too? Any takers for modding? I don't trust myself to do it as I'd likely just take it in turns to get over-stressed about it and forget about it.

I'll be nice and mod for you bunch. It's not like I was doing anything else but sitting at the office all summer anyway.
List of players (will be shuffled before the game starts) Greenie Firefoot Galadriel Agan Nogrod Pitchwife Legate Sally Kath Hookbill I think a couple of more players and we can get the ball rolling. Translation: sign ups still open and more than welcome. Also because I mod we're doing doubles. If I could double participate myself I totally would, but I doubt it'd be fair. If I'm feeling creative though I will start the game with a picture...

Yes, anyone out there?
We need one more person to have a complete round. Let's start when that person turns up (and your moddess finds a sec to draw or photoshop a masterpiece) or on July 1st anyway. After that people I can still take two people if there are more enthusiasts, but only if there are two (not one). Please keep an eye on your PMs (e-mail notifications are a good idea). I'm going to give people a bit more time than the last round since it's summer an I assume people may be busy, but if you don't write your sentence in 3 days or draw your picture in 5 days, I'm going to shuffle your turn. I also may harass you on Facebook or something, but I'd rather not use my energy on that. Also, keeping an eye on the list every now and then and letting me know in advance if you suspect you'll be too busy when it's your turn is appreciated. Lommy - draw Hookbill - write Kath - draw Nogrod - write Sally - draw Legate - write Galadriel - draw Pitchwife - write Agan - draw Firefoot - write Greenie - draw ??? - write Hookbill - draw Kath - write Nogrod - draw Sally - write Legate - draw Galadriel - write Pitchwife - draw Agan - write Firefoot - draw Greenie - write ??? - draw
