People keep telling me I have a strange accent, but I've lived in NZ all my life.
So my voice is just weird, I guess. I don't know its distinguishing characteristics, either.... Cheers, ~ Elentari II P.S. I'm still in NZ. Even in the same city I was born in....

I simply loooooooove the way people fail to notice their own accents, even when exposed to others. A bunch of my friends went to NYC a few months back, and they came back talking about people's accents in the city. My favorite great-aunt has a New Hampshire accent. My favorite uncle lives near Olympia, WA... yep. Accent. And yet, people in my general vicinity rarely realize that we all have an accent too. It's barely perceptable to anyone of the area, but if you go anywhere else in the world (or just speak to someone else), it's obvious. My "local accent" is that of speaking rather quickly and leaving the occasional letter off the end of words. There are very few people around here that actually pronounce the letter 't' if it doesn't come at the beginning of the word. A double 't' in the middle of a word becomes closer to a 'd'. The sound of 't' becomes more of a breath in the back of your throat. And yet I love my accent. That's just the way we speak here.
But I suppose, as a King (if you've ever read the Enchanted Forest Chronicles, you'll understand why I have no issues with this title) of the World Barrowdowner, I suppose I could simply pass a law or something, saying that everyone must be fully aware (and appreciative) of their accents. Mwahahahahaha. Time to get back to my morning quest: that of actually waking up. Fea

Heh...who wants to be a Queen? Lousy job... (I love those books!)
My accent is...a strange mixture...since I like to speak in accents not my original, I've become used to them, and my normal speech has changed somewhat. But lets see...Rs are very hard, and As are somewhat nasal...um...I do the T to D thing too...that's all I can think of now...stupid brain...

Alas I have no argyle socks.
And I too shall join the ranks of Eomer Stalker's for I too cannot resist Scottish, Irish, or Australian accents.

I'd have to say both, for instance:
Exibit A what you should feel honoured about) Lots of people like you and therefore want to follow you around Exibit B what you should be terrified about) Lots of people like you and therfore want to follow you around

Did you know that it is near impossible to find decent argyle socks in Las Vegas? I had to settle with brown argyle stockings. They just aren't the same, but at least I can show my Uber-Dork spirit.
Oh, and I nearly forgot. *Swoons over Eomer's accent* Do I smell a restraining order?

No swooning from this girl, Eomer. I follow you specifically for your sense of humor. But shouldn't our Eomer-stalking go in the Are You A Stalker? thread?

Yes. Because then I can start to enjoy this thread again and be fully aware of the terror which lurks in Heren's thread.
Who am I kidding? Oh, and Esgal, when you put it like that, there's only one option to take. Run away.

*rubs hands together evilly*
That is a very good description Morsul, beware of the Stalkers, for we see you but you cannot see us! That should be our motto Sirithheruwen Once Stalked, Always Stalked.

I'd say, that unless Orlando Bloom is secretly a BDer, you're probably the BDer with the most fangirls. Doesn't that make ye feel special?

Orlando Bloom is just about the only actor good looking enough to play me.
But seriously, I feel very touched.

Oh...my...goodness.
We really need some new people to take Lush's test! Come on, there's new people joining every day, don't they want to see what type of Barrowdowner they are? Well? Don't they? I guess not. On a side note, there hasn't been a new quiz for a while. Aren't there usually new quizzes popping up every so often? On another side note, I do not own a digital camera. And in a desperate attempt to stay on topic, how many other Cheeky Brits actually listen to The Beatles like Lush supposes? I certainly do!

Eomer has a point, we ought to stay on topic. I can't be bothered right now, but next time I visit the Downs I'll delete all my off-topic posts on this thread. Too tired right now. How many people discovered that they were Pretentious Prats? Or Uber Dorks? Or both together? Why are we not fighting for these titles? On second thoughts, I don't know why I bothered asking that last question..... ~ Elentari II P.S. Changed my mind, I'm deleting them now. Who's not entirely sure what they are?

New uber-dork
*grins shyly ar Eomer's scottish accent...* LOL What *IS* it about scottish accents? I'm a little shy to be a stalker, though, hehe.
Anyway, Eomer, ask and ye shall recieve...a new person to take the test. I'm not exactly new here, but I haven't come across this thread before. I am an uber-dork barrowdowner. I'm not quite sure that's right: I have only once ever gotten the right answer in the quiz room, and even then didn't post it because I didn't think I could come up with a good enough question! I love reading LOTR, but I'm far from an expert, especially compared to all you others! I took the quiz multiple times, and each time came out with that same answer. I guess my uber-dork self is just taking some time to grow, hehe.

Guys,
Listen to Bekah and Eomer. The quiz is kind of old and irrelevant by now, yeah, but must it all end in infamy? Please make Auntie Lush happy and be good from now. I'm no moderator, so I can't really boss you around (darn it), but I did work semi-hard on that quiz, so, you know... Furthermore, even if you do technically "stay on topic" but have nothing actual to contribute to the thread, then there's no real point in posting. Unless you're posting to say how great I am. Hardy har har. P.S. I don't know if Squatter likes the Beatles, but he's got a taste for Metallica. And Cypress Hill. And if you want to know more, you can harrass him through PM.

I must say I have been waiting for Lush to return to this thread and lecture some people. I am shocked, however, to discover that it wasn't me being lectured! It is blatantly obvious that I have been the one keeping the thread alive by coercing the other Downers to say nice things about me simply to stroke my ego. Oh, the underhanded methods of this boy. *insert devil smiley a la Saraphim (again). My apologies Lush, I have acted disgracefully.
But to right a wrong (because Fea seems anxious about it) I take back the earlier statement - even though it was only in jest. But we all have to admit, there are gender-based advantages either way. Sirith's amazing discovery is but one of them.

Mayhaps if it was in a different colour, for a girl I'm not too fond of the colour pink, its too girly, maybe blue or green and darker, i'm not one to wear bright or loud colours. But anyway,
