Hey! cellos kinda fascinate me too! And I also consider learning to play one a goal as well!
I also play the violin, but I have to put it up for repairs *wipes tears* Rae: Hmm. Mother in law. I'm sure she loves you...in her own little way Joy: Doesn't Frank Peretti have a new book series out? Have you read them ? They any good? I found "The Prophet" to be a great book.

Ithaeliel, there is a small error in your last post. What you meant to say was: FRENCH HORN PLAYERS AND CELLISTS RULE THE WORLD! Just thought I'd mention that. Edit: French hornists..? French horn players..? Help...? [ November 05, 2002: Message edited by: Galadrie1 ]

I played the clarinet from 5th to 8th grade. I was good at it, but my mom sold it at our last garage sale for $100. I always said it sounded like a dying cow.

I "play" the flute,(and I use the word in the loosest sense imaginable) I have a playing test on Thursday that I'm going to fail, and I'm thinking of planting a bomb in my flute case and giving it to my band teacher. Ok, enough ranting on how dumb the flute is.

What intrigues/fascinates you: times of romance...and love in general What scares you: fire, guns, biological warfare, me dying before experiencing true love Quotation to live by: "All you need is love." ---John Lennon "It takes a little time sometimes To get your feet back on the ground It takes a little time sometimes To get the Titanic turned back around." "Cowards die many times before their deaths; The valiant never taste of death but once. Of all the wonders that I yet have heard, It seems to me most strange that men should fear, Seeing that death, a necessary end, Will come when it will come." --Julius Caesar in "Julius Caesar" "Love is a smoke made with the fume of sighs; Being purged, a fire sparkling in lovers' eyes; Being vexed, a sea nourished with loveing tears. What is it else? A madness most discreet, A choking gall, and a preserving sweet." --Romeo Montague in "Romeo And Juliet" "Work like you have never been tired Love like you have never been hurt And dance like no one is watching." Additional comments: If love is but a dream, then, when in love, may I never wake. If life is but a vision and there is more, then let more come when it comes, for I will welcome it with open arms. You only need to do two things in this life: love and breath. Do most as intensely and as often as you can. Ooh la la, Rimbaud, I wonder: what is your take on perception itself if you try to perceive through a thick haze of, um, "pipeweed" smoke?
Vanima, babe, I really dig the quotes you put up. And John Lennon has it right, he really does. But even he himself has said that the song is an over-simplification. Then again, maybe he is too harsh of a judge on himself. Frieda, you MUST find a quotation to live by. Otherwise, it will find you!

As for the jokes, they're not exactly original. I remember our clinic conducter telling those! Not that I mind, though. But you did leave out the violas. So here's one: Q: What's the difference between an accomplished viola player and a professional viola player? A: An accomplished viola player doesn't exist. (Ok, I hope no viola players take offense)

Hee hee, those jokes are good (though kind of stupid... but that's the point of jokes ). Once someone told me a whole ton of symphony jokes (so many I was screaming at them to stop) but I can't remember any of them! Hmm.... If I remember any I'll post them.

I believe the viola joke is from either a former orchestra teacher or some other orchestranian who was trying to tease a certain viola player.
