Could I just clarify ...

1. I believe the quotation has to be a speech?

2. Can it be a part of a speech, if the whole speech is a long one?

3. The first post of the thread says answers must be LOTR-related, but I saw one recently from (I think) The Silmarillion, and the last one was from The Hobbit. From which works can I choose?

Can be a couple sentences from a speech, from any of the "canon" (avoid things like HOME). As for needing a speech as opposed to text, I think that has been the unspoken rule. But I think if you have a good recognizable text passage it would work too.

As far as I remember, I have only posted a puzzle once before in this thread; a long time ago, when I didn't realise it had to be from a speech, and people weren't very happy that it wasn't.
