I am sure that HI won't mind me sharing the vital information that he omits on his website, but being a nosey old biddy I demanded the moment I heard the news:
Weight 3.6kgs Length 53 cm So if I convert sucessfully into old money .... OUCH That is well over 8lbs isn't it? I am pretty sure that is right but I accidentally already deleted the PM)

Wow, congratulations, HI! HI Jr. is quite the cute little Hobbit. Who's running the pool on how long HI waits before he starts reading The Hobbit to the little nipper?

The smallness of babies always astounds me... look at the hand on the left. He's tiny... tiny, and therefore adorable. Congratulations, my Georgian History Tutor. May he bring you much joy.
I agree with Sauce. Spend lots of time with him before he becomes a teenager. |

Congratulations to HI and Mrs. Istarion! What a cute baby.
It's never too soon to start reading The Hobbit.

Hehe.
Probably H-I will introduce him to the world of Tolkien via HoME 1.
Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Istarion! Have fun being parents. (wistful) I remember when Gurthang and Kath were that little . . .

Thank you, ladies and gentlement
The picture page finally loads properly (pictures originally uploaded were too large for slower connections) We've been listening to Mozart last night - made us sleep better. Mr.U was spot on - Mozart served as the background to The Hobbit, Chapter 1. Tonight we'll have TH Ch 2 accompanied with Chopin or maybe Vivaldi... My harder musical preferences are henceforward confined to headphones in some other room

Well, the pictures loading must have completely jinxed my computer because I couldn't reply to this thread at all yesterday.
Anyhow, I must say, completely selfishly of course, that this news shakes all hope of seeing HI and Mrs. HI return to more regular posting on the Downs--unless of course the sleepless nights lead to IIS -- internet insomnia solace. That's a gorgeous picture of the three of you together so soon after the birth--a picture out of many that I'm sure you will cherish--Mrs. HI is positively glowing with beauty--they are all a marvel. Congratulations.

out of the mouths of babes
Estelyn's blog entry today has the perfect gift for new parents. Fordim might want to take note also, although he's hardly a new parent.

It occured to me that little George is not yet a week old but is already known internationally - that is quite impressive! Not that I am surprised that he is precocious.....

Oh heavens, where have I been! Such wonderful news I missed! A bit of a belated congratulation, though I think that congratulations will be appropriate for many years to come, as your good fortune grows even bigger day by day.
Thank you for sharing the your delightful photo journal with us, and best wishes, Mr. & Mrs. HerenIstarion, for you and the very latest of the Istari! |

Oh my, I turn my back on you for a while and look what happens.
Congratulations to you both. What happy news this is. Junior's just adorable. *sigh* Wish I could talk hubby into that but he thinks 3's more than enough.

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Istarion! He's a darling. Babies are just such precious little bundles of joy, aren't they? Perhaps some work and worry, but just one wee smile on their little faces makes up for everything. And isn't it lovely to think that he's yours?
God bless the three of you! Like Bêthberry said, the picture with the three of you is to be treasured... your first family picture!
